Ha! This explains why the Redskins were considered the Cowboys biggest rival for years, when I was a kid even in the late 80s/early 90s (I had some NFL Films tapes that referred to this rivalry as one of the NFL's biggest for years). I would think the Eagles are the bigger rivals of the Cowboys now, in the fullness of time. Not just because of this season, but because of the overall reality.

Think Cowboys fans will always view the Redskins as the biggest Rival no matter how bad either team is.

All NFC East games are serious rivals. Probably the least intense match up is Giants/Skins or Eagles/Skins--the other four rivalries are all pretty equally intense. And I think that's only because the Skins have basically been in the basement of the division a bunch over the last 20 years, and have only won it twice since the NFL realigned to make the NFC east a 4 team division.

TV is right. Because there are just 4 teams that have played each other forever it is a fight in a box. I have no basis for it, but I think that NFC-E has the most intense whole division rivalry over anyone else. Is there really a simmering thing between the Dolphins and Bills? Cardinals-Rams (not that neither team is in StL).

I was a little surprised checking out football reference how hapless the Skins have been for so long. Every team in the division has had its down years over the last two decades, but the Skins have been embarrassingly bad, with whole bunch of last place finishes. Giants haven't been super successful year in and year out, but they have those two Superbowls.

AFC West may be close. Seems like they all don’t like each other very much. NFC north wasn’t pretty good at one time, but it seems like the packers just dominate that division most of the time so it’s all fairly one sided.
