^ I had that (Cowboys fans) in my Phila schools and then moved down here just in time to endure the 90s SB parades. Local fans over the last 10 years have actually become very realistic, mostly anti-Jerry and resigned to their 8-8 fate. But something flipped the switch on them this year (maybe their comeback vs StL) and they have been obnoxious again.

Gonna try to keep using my message point that if we swapped schedules with them, they wouldn't have even made the playoffs. We'd have won one of the ARI-SF games and also won at CHI. They'd have lost at GB.

A shitty part about living in Houston is that you have a mix of real versus bandwagon Cowboys fans. You really can't default to their just being bandwagoners.

On a related note, I really enjoyed being at Buffalo Wild Wings and knowing that catch was getting overturned.

the cowboys are such an unsavory team to me i call them by the nickname "the cowgirls" instead. my family has been calling the cowboys, the cowgirls instead for 3 generations. my grandfather invented the practice.

Growing up in the DC area, the Cowboy fans were especially obnoxious. Memories of that (and the current obnoxious ones around me in Richmond) still make it easy to hate them forever.

Where I live, college football is far more popular than the NFL. There are bandwagon Saints and Cowboys fans, and maybe a handful of real Saints fans around here. I wonder what would happen if both were good at the same time.

The thing about our local bandwagon Cowboy fans is that they have no real appreciation for the NFC East rivalries, and thus they really aren't any more obnoxious than other bandwagon fans.

My hatred for the Cowboys started in the '70s with Too Tall Jones and Staubach .The were "America's Team" back then which pissed me off. I wasn't even really into football and I learned to hate them. Everybody in my middle school class loved them so I hated them on principal.

My dad hated Dallas when I was a kid and I grew up watching the Aikman/Smith/Irving teams. Also growing up in south jersey then north jersey, the Giants fans and Jets fans and Eagles had an authenticity to them. The fucking Cowboys fans were only fans when they could troll you. Fuck them.

my friend was a 9ers fan growing up but wore an aforementioned Cowboys Starter jacket cause he thought it looked cool. he was riding his dirtbike around town and a car hit and ran him. fucked him up pretty bad. he swears they did it on purpose.

When I was a kid in NEPA, NFL fandom was split amongst the Cowboys, Steelers, Colts, Raiders, Packers. An Eagle fan was more rare than an actual eagle. This was before the NFL regional broadcast rules, so the networks would televise the good teams at the time. I was a Colts fan until my interest in football waned around junior high. My siblings are a split of Steelers and Cowboys. There were some Bills and Jets fans because of "OJ" and "Broadway Joe". But I cannot recall a single Eagles fan amongst the kids in school or the neighborhood. Quite frankly, I didn't even know Philadelphia had a football team until I was around 10-12 yrs old because the Eagles were so bad and irrelevant they were never on TV.

As I said, this was before regional broadcast rules. So kids picked their team based on the most important factor... the logo/uni they liked best of the teams most often on TV. And prior to the turnpike & blue route, NEPA and Philly were kinda isolated from each other. NEPA was much closer drive-wise to NY. Hence why NEPA has as many fans of the Mets and Yankees as the Phillies. Actually, from what I've heard, it's more Yankees now since the Phils AAA moved away.
