They should break slot at every opportunity and give Selig the finger after each one.

Because Selig owes us one ... and he knows it. Something fishy will happen to help save the day for us ... if we need it to.

/nah, I don't really believe it, either.

They showed it during their Phillies coverage just now. Plan "A" is 8:37 as expected, but they mentioned a Plan "B" where the game starts at 5:00. I don't see anything on Phillies.com about it though...

So, if a car leaves South Carolina at 7 a.m., traveling at cough75cough miles an hour ...

Travel day to allow Cole to go on full rest for Game 7 (if necessary, which it won't be)?

Should have a plan C (for Cold as a ....).
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

No chance Fox goes for a 5 PM start under any circumstances.

I think our chances of winning the series are higher than they were at 8:30 yesterday. The extra AB and the strength of our bullpen are pretty big advantages in a 3.5 inning game.

Now we have the added good news of potentially having King Cole going in Game 7 if necessary, rather than Moyer.

Of course everyone from the national media are singing a different tune, but since when have they been right about anything.

They better play tomorrow. We postponed this huge event for the organization I work with to Thursday night thinking no kids would show up because of the game. If they move it to Thursday, oh my.

my dad's friend can't make the treck back to the game tonight, so yours truly is taking the 6 pm train from dc to get in just before 8 and somehow hightail it to the park to get there by game time and take said ticket. oh, and the last train back leaves at 11:30. let's wrap this up quick, kids.

i talked to a guy who works for the company who manages CBP a few min ago (he has a high position for facility mgt across the street) and said any decision will be made by 1 tomorrow, 2 as the absolute drop dead time (given by MLB). said the place/field is in terrible shape and is 50/50 to play tomorrow. he thinks they will because MLB knows this situation is getting out of hand. says field will be in terrible shape either way

i don't understand how the field could be in bad shape - it's been under a tarp for like 2 days and is super high tech for drainage. what did we spend our tax $ on?

Given that game 5 of this year's Series is being handled like a microsoft product release, I invite any & all hellzapoppin comparisons of MLB & MSFT (executive leadership, product performance, marketing savvy, etc) to while away the interminable hours until the bottom half of the 6th.

I don't have any myself, so I'll switch subtopics & ask whether any of our quants has examined 2008 pitching performances for the best non-Lidge Phillies hurler over 2-innings in which they start cold (no inclusion of great performance during innings 3 & 4 of an appearance for example).

I'm not saying that that guy should take the hill for inning 7 - I've decided I'm in the "familiar behavior augurs better performance than raw statistical truths" camp in this instance. I'm just curious.

At this point I wish they'd decide to finish the remaining innings on a makeshift field in the spectrum using Shelton, CT-produced authentic Wiffleball® gear.

When was the last time that you've seen grass and dirt dry during a Nor'easter? Oh yeah, never.

except that it is clear here now. They'll have the tarp off the field, those football sideline heaters blowing and perhaps even Helicopters drying things out.
