What everyone REALLY wanted to know:

With 5-1/2 innings of World Series Game 5 already in the books, a question arises of great concern to many Phillies fans going to Citizens Bank Park tonight:
Will beer sales be cut off after the seventh inning?

No, says David Freireich, spokesman for Aramark, which operates all the park's concessions.

"Today is considered a new event," he said.

So the cutoff would be after seven more innings - which means the brew won't stop flowing unless a handful of extra innings wind up getting played.

Should the Phillies win in 9 - thereby clinching the city's first championship in 25 years - fans are likely to have beers at hand for what's bound to be a wild celebration.

"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "

Indeed. And while I'd just as soon skip the scotch, I could go for a bourbon and a beer with lunch today.

The Awards Committee has taken it under advisement. Expect a major announcement about this year's ceremony soon.

Gargano just said on WIP that they're writing a statement in the commissioner's office announcing that the guy in charge of the Wheelie's will never deliver.

satellite shows a little green blip on the radar around you. There isn't anything else near Philly right now.

In fact - the sun is shining here (Downingtown) for the first time in days.
