While it might alleviate certain perceptions, it would also give Tampa an additional home field advantage (4 of the "official" first 6 in Tampa). Not that I think it would matter, I feel our guys will get it done in the Rays house if it goes back to Tampa.

Speaking of... I love the question posed to Selig about moving the resumption of game 5 to Tampa. May as well just ask, "We're pulling for the cinderella Rays, any way you can give them an advantage?"

The Phillies are up 3-1. They have four chances to score versus only three for the Rays. Our bullpen has been lights out all series. Even if we don't put this away tomorrow (or Wednesday?) we still have two more chances.

And I feel sick.

since we always expect the worst, i expect him to use Taguchi. but it would also make sense if he PH'd Brunt and left him in the game if the Phils score. personally, i'd probably do that with the faith Brunt, J-Roll and Werth would be able to get on base and let Utley and Howard score them. You've got to have faith that they'd be able to put up one run on a middle reliever there.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

with the 1-2 hitters of the rays both being lefty, i think it really would be smartest to let madson pitch to the 6-7-8 hitters and bring in romero whenever the 1-2 hitters come up.

My plan exactly. That's why you have to send up either Stairs or Dobbs to hit for Hamels. If you send up Jenks, Maddon doesn't make the move. I want Price to come in for two reasons: (1) He'll probably leave him in for Werth, with Utley and Howard right behind him; and (2) Price is due up 4th in the top of the 7th, so will probably only be good for 1 inning. Plus, if Maddon decides to go with Howell (instead of Price) in the bottom of the 6th, I like having Howell in the game, rather than Balfour, who is then burned.

Astoundingly, if they end up retaining the off day after all, this worked out pretty well for the Phillies. If they can score more runs than the Rays in four opportunities against three, they win the Series. If not, they have two more opportunities, in the last of which they will have Cole Hamels on full rest.

I can dig it.

That's a good shot for demonstrating how weird the Trop really is.
