He said he's still the pitcher. I don't think he'd hesitate to go with Price to neutralize our ability to pinch hit for Hamels with a decent bat.

Dobbs.

We'd probably pinch-hit Dobbs. And then they'd go to Price.

Oh, they WANT to kill the travel day. But what if they don't start until 9 p.m. on Wednesday? It could easily be 2 or 3 a.m. before the teams get out of Philadelphia.

Next thought: Do you consider sending Myers to Tampa now, just in case?

Cole says he'd go in Game 7 on 3 days rest.

Best-case scenario at this point is a delay until Wed., right? And that would be, what?, a 9 p.m. start because of the Obama ad?

If that's the case, can they get away with no travel day? Or would that push things back another day? Opening the door to Hamels in G7, if necessary?

Best case is winning the game 5 resumption.

Second best case is winning game 6.

Third best case is a Wed resume and Hamels can come back for game 7 on 3 days rest if necessary. He only threw 75 pitches.

One good thing: it is sort of like a new game where the Phillies have 4 at bats if needed, and the Rays have three.

Let's also not forget that if they'd suspended the game after 5 we'd have had to use the bullpen for the top of the 6th. Who knows who Charlie would have used? Maybe Durbin. Whoever it was would have had to face the top of the Rays order and the outcome could have been even worse.

Nah. Shields will have to fly back that night too. Cancels out.

Might not be an option

Game 5 finish on Tuesday
Game 6 on Wednesday
Game 7 on Thursday

2 day's rest.

Only because the Rays were given an extra at-bat tonight, with the Phillies handicapped by the sloppy field.

Just got home....so, um, yeah, that was interesting

True.

But I think if Game 5 finishes tomorrow, we win.

I'm just happy that Cole would be up for it if needed and possible.
