I completely agree.

my dad took off and drove 2 hrs to the game for this ridiculous display. now has has to take more time for tomorrow for another game that might be rained out. there's no justice in that. what a bunch of bullsh***.

i'll be flying back from oklahoma from 5-11 pm. if they win the world series while i'm in the air, i'm going to decapitate 102 umpires.

That said, I would have done the same thing if I was running MLB.

You can't end a World Series because of rain.

Then the game should have been suspended after the bottom of the 5th, since the Rules of Baseball can be amended by Selig at any time.

Right. This is what is pissing me off. They let the crap go on so they could cover their ass, then Selig says he would have had the game keep going anyway. Why not stop it before it got so out of hand?

The biggest joke in the $#@! world. What a goddamn stupid sport. This is like how I judge people who get all worked up over college football since they have a stupid way of determining the champion.

Goddamn this is unreal.

jerseyhoya has it right. I may want to have these decisions made in the best interests of the Phillies, but the people who make these decisions should be considering the safety and fairness of the conditions. These had deteriorated so much by the end of the fifth, that this is when the decision should have been made, and when it would have been fairest to both teams, since each would have had an equal opportunity to bat and pitch under the current conditions. The score should be a minimal or no factor at all.

After that suspend it, or do whatever the rules call for. But if you just make an honest decision based on the playing conditions, then you don't have to spend hours explaining, contradicting and rationalizing yourself because you've decided to throw in other factors than the integrity of the game.
You don't have to call me darlin', Darlin'. But you never even call me by my name.

Okay. I turned on ESPNews for about 20 seconds hoping to see Manuel or one of our guys, but they showed the tying hit and then went to the anchors. Heard the chick ask Vina, "Who has the advantage tomorrow night?" and immediately went from zero to ninety on the rage meter before turning it off.

I'm still around sixty.

I won't presume to suggest for anyone else. But for me, I need to stay away from this the rest of the night.

I guess on the bright side, Madson and Romero get a day off to rest up. Really Madson and Lidge should be enough to get through three innings tomorrow.

On 950 they were talking about starting Myers tomorrow night instead of just starting with the bullpen, does that make any sense?

I can only imagine Mitch's face when Buck and McCarver said it was easier to pitch in the rain then hit.

He might have exploded.
