2017 draft - is it better to hold on to all our 'assets' this year to a> see if anyone isn't able to play at all (embiid) and b> see if someone who isn't a fit might help us take what might be a few top 10 picks and get back into the lottery? (ie if we end up with say the 6 and 9, find out embiid is a player, maybe use noel or jah and a pick to get into the top 3 if there's a stud piece that fits with simmons and joel?
I'd feel this way if the team stayed as is, but it looks like Dario is signing tomorrow, or at least opting out from Efes. There just doesn't seem to be any room for all these guys to get minutes. Even if we do a Bulls thing and play guys that shouldn't be at the 3 at the 3, you're still looking at 144 minutes a game divided by 5 main guys (Embiid, Okafor, Simmons, Noel, Dario) for 29 minutes a game. Then you factor in Grant, Cov, Holmes and probably at least one SF that we sign, and it's a really clogged roster. I dunno, maybe you don't play Embiid on back to backs for 40 games or so? I'd prefer Dario stayed one more year, and we maximize value for either Oak or Noel.
