I'm aware Stevens might be unrealistic, but the buzz would be appreciated. Damien Wilkins was a contributing member of the rotation at games I paid money to see last year, give me something...

maybe they want no buzz surrounding this bc of all the hype they poured into bynum and the horrible turn that took.

why does "i paid to be at games, i deserve better" routinely get brought out as some sort of legitimate argument? just don't go to the games

Damien Wilkins was actually a pretty solid player at the end of this year! Had 12 a game on 53% shooting in March. Hope he can crack a rotation somewhere good, liked the way he played.

I don't think they'll hire Curry. Probably get some young (CHEAP) guy willing to take some lumps and focus on player development rather than killing guys for every mistake like DC did

I sort of got it with the whole Bynum knee thing. But yeah if they're clearly tanking this year and you buy tickets don't be shocked when they suck.

I hope TD11 never tries to run a business, jesus...

It's a legitimate concern for any consumer. I'll always stick with the team, but there are plenty of people that won't. They have a lot of egg on their face with the Bynum thing, it's not unreasonable to think they should work on improving their relationship with the city. I don't really care, I want them to suck for 3 years and get real talent. But some effort to bring in the coach of the future would be cool, a big get would be a great start for Hinkie

you're a prophet, EJ. not hiring a coach within 2 months of an entire regime change = they aren't working on "improving their relationship with the city"

i would think the best way to do that would be to win games, and to do that maybe they should take their time picking a coach.

but of course they should just listen to you and hire a college coach who may or may not be available and i should never run a business.

sam hinkie hasn't made a single major move yet, therefore he must make a move lest the city of philadelphia starts seeing someone else

"Sticking with the team" is all relative though. Let's say we lose 60 games the next 3 years. Then we pick up an exciting nucleus and we win 55 games and go to the ECF. Do you think people won't start coming back? Again look at what happened with the Phillies. Heck the Sixers were (barely) over .500 last year for the first time in 7 years, and they shot up to 13th in attendance.

Sports are different than other businesses. This is the only pro basketball in town. As long as the ownership is willing to eat some lean years, people will come back when they are good (And stop coming if they get bad again).

Wait what. You guys are okay with tanking now?

That used to be punishable by death in here.

I'm only ok with tanking when there is a great draft. Next year is great.

Also the fact that we blew all our assets last off season makes it easier.

I hope TD moves out here and starts a business. I would support him and so would SK and the other BSG guys. And that's a fine start.

Here's some news for you

94WIP’s Howard Eskin reports that Sixers CEO Adam Aron is “out” with the Sixers.
