Very seriously. LeBron was on a level by himself, but after that no prep prospect has gotten this level of hype besides Oden. Watch this video, he gets an extra 6 inches of air that guys just normally don't get, even in the NBA. And he's really skilled, reminds me a lot of TMac to tell you the truth.

But it's more than just Wiggins. Between Smart, Randall, Parker, Gordon, Harrison you should be able to get a great prospect. But those guys are the kind of guys that could be Kevin Durant or they could be Rudy Gay/Harrison Barnes etc (Big time hype that fizzles out. But the fact that they even have the hype in the first place is great.) Wiggins on the other hand I health pending would be pretty surprised if he wasn't a great player.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

This season really only has two directions for me:

1) Sign Bynum and hope he's back. If he is, you've got a legitimate foundation to work with.
2) Every thread this season being titled WIGGINSWATCH: THE QUEST FOR NORTHERN LIGHTS

So it looks like the Clippers are getting Doc Rivers and the Celts are getting Brian Shaw or Byron Scott..

Who are we getting? Michael Curry? David Fizdale? Melvin Hunt? Chris Finch?

I am so irate at this team right now, it's not even funny...at least I care...my friends that I have shared season tix with in the past have no interest whatsoever in this team or coming back.

This is a major league city and used to be a major league franchise, but now this team is being run like it's Charlotte, Washington or Minnesota...

It's disgusting.

Why is that? Because they haven't hired a retread coach yet?

I would be infinitely happier with Fizdale, Hunt, or Finch than I would be with Rivers or Scott. (Don't want Curry, would like Shaw)

I don't want a retread at all. I want an assistant to grow with a young team. Every great coach starts as an assistant.

The bottom line is that the coach really doesn't matter to me that much. Nobody was falling all over themselves to praise Doc Rivers until he got three hall of famers and suddenly became a genius. I think Doc is incredibly overrated. There's generational coaching talents like Popovich that I believe can coach anybody, but even he had hall-of-fame players. Players is the key, not coaches. That's why there's no rush to hire one. They're not going anywhere.

Also, @ threecount

Just to make a point about retreads, here's three NBA coaches who have coached three different NBA teams:

a) 303-327, .481, 0 NBA Titles
b) 416-521, .444, 0 NBA Titles
c) 257-343, .428, 0 NBA Titles

[Reveal] Spoiler:
a: Jim O'Brien
b: Byron Scott
c: Eddie Jordan

It was moreso to make the point that Byron Scott blows.

The difference between my group and your group is that your group has 5 losing seasons combined (and without Riley's shitty last Miami stint, it's two losing seasons combined). The point is, those coaches didn't change jobs for being shitty.

I'm not arguing that retread coaches are always terrible. I'm arguing that more often than not, they aren't good, and it's not what this team needs right now.

All I can say is that after this media blackout, Hinkie better have something interesting (note that I'm not even expecting "good," just "interesting") otherwise it's going to look like he spent the last several weeks playing with himself.

Barkley on Sports Final

-- isn't a fan of Hinkie ("Get that Moneyball/analytical crap outta here. The Rockets weren't any good until they paid Harden")
-- thinks the Sixers are better than most people think
-- loves Jrue and Thad and thinks the team should be marketing those guys more
-- badly need a center, but no @#(*@(#* way should they re-sign Bynum. They aren't a contender anyway, he won't generate any interest in this team, and you're gonna give $24M to a guy with "two flat tires"?!
-- likes Zeller a lot (Mikey Miss says Zeller is too soft)
-- not a fan of Olynyk.....doesn't know if he's a PF or a C, and at times he plays like a SF
