Sizzlers have been in a media blackout. They have been silent for weeks about anything. Really weird for a professional sports team.

Yahoo! Sports reported that the Sixers could wait until after the Orlando rookie summer league games on July 7-12 before hiring a coach.

Jackson could be fun

Some second round big men I like are Trevor Mbakwe and Richard Howell. I think Mbakwe is the better prospect because he has a 7' 4" wingspan, but he's also 24 with multiple DUIs and injury concerns so could be around late. Howell has pretty bad measureables but is strong as an ox, a load on the o boards and has nice touch around the basket.

These guys are both low ceiling but strong and good rebounders and could see them being effective rotational frontcourt players. Lump Oriakhi in there too as a similar guy though fuck him for ditching UCONN

Dei says Hinkie is too involved/interested in the draft to hire a coach and it could be mid-July like Orlando last year. She also says McCollum, Zeller and Olynyk are the 3 names to watch for at #11

For an analytics guy, he doesn't seem to be very good at multitasking.

supposedly we're close to adding former Knicks dude Scott O'Neil to the front office

I guess it makes sense to get the whole decision making team together pre-coach? idk

PJ is actually a pretty good friend of mine. Would be stoked for him to be on the Sixers.

He's hoping to stay west though..

Sure -but he is being a little deliberate. And yeah it might be a tad WIPish but I kinda agree that it makes more sense to have a coach/philosophy in place before making your pick rather than vice versa. He probably has a real good idea of who he wants to coach and probably has talked with the prospective coach on this but it still seems a tad ass backwards. who knows. I like the selection of hinkie so we'll see.

I'm sure Hinkie would say that the philosophy is in place already.

It's not like we're picking #1 overall. The guy we get at 11 isn't going to change much for us regardless.

I agree that this is weird but it's not some crippling move. It's not like the team is practicing right now or something. Hoping this is a sign that we getting on the tank next year.

You can't coach up size. If the Sixers had taken Greg Monroe instead of Turner three years ago, they could afford to go for McCollum now. Now they should go for size-Zeller, Olnyk of Plumlee.
