I don't know what he is trying to say. However, what he is trying to do is what he is always trying to do, make up some conflict that people do not give a shit about. He wants people to look at him. He needs to be the center of attention. It is just a narcissistic marketing gimmick.

yeah, I don't think it's a conscious distraction from his daily, sorted scandals. I think he's just an obese guy that likes to watch reality tv and insult people on the internet. It's who he is, and part of why he was so appealing to real Americans.

I swear I heard a snippet that Trump is recalling all diplomats by interrogation day. No transition. For a business man, that is pretty stupid. Succession planning is a core, key element of any enterprise of size, and putting novices into a role without context or introductions by the outgoing diplomats is very short sighted. What will Ivana do in the Czech Republic after setting up house in the Embassy? Have friends over for tea? Then what? I hope this was some off the cuff comment and not a reality. Not only could it be the worst transition ever, but it could also be an opening globally to move foreign agendas that could never happen otherwise (especially if the installed diplomats are as favorable to the foreign government as they are to the US). I would say unprecedented, but it would really just be another day in the new world order.

Correct, the people who were appointed, and work at the pleasure of the President, but I am sure that some type of formal change over is not only customary, but important. I think a lot of postings, especially places that are not terribly glamorous, are staffed out by experts. That is an educated guess rooted in logic. For example, London is an easy post and a reward where as places like Afghanistan (currently a careerist, not an appointee) are people there to get things done in the local environment.
