yeah, one very bad assumption was that black voters who came out in droves for obama would do the same or close to it for hillary. yea, i know whites did the same so i'm not trying to solely blame black voters or anything but its a big block that had extra tepid turnout.

if black voters in philadelphia alone had come out like they did for Obama then HRC would have won PA. You can narrow that even more to a handful of precincts in Philadelphia and she would have won PA. Trumps line of "what has a democrat ever done for you" in addition to Super Predators probably hurt her a ton.

No conflict of interest with Trump and NBC, of course.

Mr. Ghobash was on the daily show last night. Unfortunately the daily show is pretty much the equivalent to WIP, so I don't know if he was quite prepared for it. However he was quite articulate and knowledgeable and wanted to learn more about this individual and his views. Here is a great listen/read of views in the Muslim world and some stuff on Russia. The world would be a much better place with more people like him. Unfortunately I haven't read his book or find his opinions on the unequal treatment of women and homosexuals in the Islamic community.

My 11 year old has been going off for about 45 minutes on the hacking. He basically is trying to figure out why we are not going to have another election since Russia elected Trump. Oh boy, I am not sure where to go with this. He is very black and white so he has determined that Donald is illegitimate. He is not getting the nuance that we are where we are and Trump is president. He is totally pissed that senate or Obama is not stopping this (we need to work on civic a bit). Regardless, he is not completely wrong minded. The frequent discussions I have had with the kids since the election are nothing that I can really get my head around. I do not think I was so engaged at 11 or 15, and their thoughts, although influenced, are reasonable. If this keeps up for 4 years I will age like a president.

You should probably sit him down and explain the rather sordid details of our own CIA in the affairs of other countries and influencing their leadership and the spying and hacking of our own allies like ms. Merkel just a couple short years ago.
