a lot of them won't care but I do think Trump will be as or less popular than W. a lot of people who voted for him will be hesitant to admit it in a few years.

I doubt we see anything but doubling and tripling down by the trumpians. he'll get us into WW3 with battles on our own turf and the trumpians will justify it

this is where i'm at. i don't think there's any coming back from this. The Rs have their playbook now

that's two different things. Republicans have shown that they'll do anything to consolidate power, but that doesn't mean they'll be popular.

They way they're doing it, they don't have to be popular. The NC thing is going to dictate how they take over everything.

Such naivete. These dictators will not get along, and if they do, it's because they're up to no good.

Obama reaches out to foreign leaders to find common ground = Our president is an apologist who hates America
Trump says he will reach out to foreign leaders to find common ground = That what a good leader does

the Trumpies think Hillary somehow lost the election a 2nd time last night. When I see how stupid we are as a people it helps me to rationalize how we ended up here, but it makes me think we should just end this human experiment. just let the nukes fly, we had a good run.

details on the Trump 'University' outcome:
The settlement submitted to a federal court in San Diego indicates Trump is personally guaranteeing that $25 million will be given to the plaintiffs’ lawyers by Jan. 18, 2017, two days before his inauguration.

Trump’s attorneys denied any fraud, however, arguing the promotional tactics are merely sales “puffery” past courts have allowed.

Trump and Trump University do not admit any wrongdoing in the settlement, Politico reported. Trump University participants are expected to get back roughly 50 percent of the fees they paid. Politico said the deal stipulates students who have received previous refunds, meanwhile, will get reduced payments or none at all.

Enrollees typically spent about $1,500 for a three-day seminar or up to $35,000 for a mentorship program, according to the report.

The $25 million total includes $4 million set aside to settle a separate state lawsuit brought in New York by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (D).

we're all going to want to sue for his 'puffery'.

this is a novel idea that will probably be undertaken:
“We’ve never seen this kind of wealth in the White House, and so traditional rules don’t work,” Gingrich said Monday during an appearance on NPR’s "The Diane Rehm Show" about the president-elect’s business interests. “We’re going to have to think up a whole new approach.”

And should someone in the Trump administration cross the line, Gingrich has a potential answer for that too.

“In the case of the president, he has a broad ability to organize the White House the way he wants to. He also has, frankly, the power of the pardon,” Gingrich said. “It’s a totally open power. He could simply say, ‘Look, I want them to be my advisers. I pardon them if anyone finds them to have behaved against the rules. Period. Technically, under the Constitution, he has that level of authority.”

Some don't seem convinced that this is a completely great idea:
“Speaker Gingrich’s statement that wealth trumps the rule of law, basically that’s what he was saying, is jaw-dropping,” added American University government professor James Thurber. “I can’t believe it. He’s a historian. He should also know that we did not want to have a king. A king in this case is somebody with a lot of money who cannot abide by the rule of law."

that poor professor, thinking Gingrich doesn't know what he's implying.

the atlantic checked into pennsylvania to see what should replace obamacare

The financial pinch she’s feeling is compounded by her sense that other people are getting health care for free. “If I close my doors, being single, I could make more money than working here, with all the stuff they’ll give me” she said. “They have their health care, their food stamps, their iPhones ... They got it made!”

met a guy in Colorado (friend of a friend) who did HRC's digital stuff up to NH Primary then did freelance for her after because he hated all the travelling. Rode on her plane regularly. Showed me a photo of her talking to him and said, "That was her asking why the hell i left the campaign."

He thinks he got asked to go on the road permanently because he was filling in once and made an small impression. She did one of those off the record visits to an ice cream shop. They were eating the ice cream on the plane, which HRC was not taking part in because she is super serious about her diet. He made a joke about that to her despite not really knowing her or ever interacting. The next day he got a call from someone he had never spoken too, one of the higher ups and they told him that HRC wants him travelling with them full time. It is funny how that works. Seems like she clearly said something to someone and then chain of command to him getting a call.

He provided some cool insights too. Said that he pushed for messaging to counter Bernie to be more that "She has 30 yrs of experience," and he wanted more emotional videos, but was regularly told no.

Said she is the smartest person he has ever met. Remembers everyone's name. Is genuine and kind.

But hey, Donald Trump!

In Germany, Syrians find mosques too conservative

Since they don't speak Turkish they can't go to the more moderate ones already there. Perhaps the Syrian influx will moderate the Arabic-speaking mosques there...be a slightly interesting outcome after all the worry about migrants.

Hoping trump/pence are somehow charged with treason at some point. Do they still use a firing squad for that?

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker asked President-elect Donald Trump in a letter delivered Tuesday to give his state more authority in determining how many refugees can come from countries with ties to terrorism.
Walker is also asking for help to allow the state to proceed with drug testing for some food stamp recipients and legalizing the hunting of grey wolves.
