An account, with some of the photos by one of them.

I've only seen a head shot of the photographer, so I have no idea how well he was dressed or what his physical condition is.

I ended up on a CNN blog piece about NC via reddit and the comments are wall to wall Drumpfites ripping the author to pieces and cheering on McCrory (sp?) and his cronies.

Could we expect anything different? The amount of hate and rage in this country--and the world-- is stupefying. And this is Christmas week. Have humans just given up entirely on the idea of getting along with one another?

Trump's kids behind a non profit selling access to the PEOTUS. Wonder if his supporters will care or if this is somehow a Jon Podesta's doing?

a lot of them won't care but I do think Trump will be as or less popular than W. a lot of people who voted for him will be hesitant to admit it in a few years.

action needed to stop the massacre and fighting in South Sudan

Political rivalry between Salva Kiir, South Sudan’s president, an ethnic Dinka, and his former deputy, Riek Machar, a Nuer, led to civil war in 2013 that has often followed ethnic lines. The pair signed a shaky peace deal last year but fighting has continued. Machar fled the country in July.

“Reports suggest that President Salva Kiir and his loyalists are contemplating a new military offensive in the coming days against the [Machar-allied opposition troops],” Ban said. “Moreover, there are clear indications that Riek Machar and other opposition groups are pursuing a military escalation.”

The US has been struggling to secure the minimum number of votes needed for the security council to impose an arms embargo on South Sudan. In order to be adopted, a resolution needs nine votes in favour and no vetoes.

Diplomats have said that so far only seven members were in favour, with the remaining eight planning to abstain or vote no. While Russia and China, two of the five security council members with veto power, are skeptical of whether an arms embargo would achieve much in a country awash with weapons, diplomats did not expect them to block the measure.

29% of all voters and 52% of Republicans believe Trump won the popular vote. 7% of Democrats believe it, too.

He did not.

how could a democrat possibly believe this, or how could ANYONE believe this, you may ask? I was my dentist's office last night and heard a conversation where they didn't realize the Electoral college was a thing and didn't realize people voted yesterday. They thought it was weird. "Didn't he already win? Why is she contesting it?" I explained the system and they looked at me bewildered. i'm honestly not sure if i convinced them.

A certain amount of people just think (rightfully so) that if you win that means you got the most votes...this isn't the case in our system! twice in last five presidential elections!
a large portion of Republicans also think because Trump said there were millions who voted illegally that that meant that actually occurred (it didn't). They also get their news from amazingly biased sources (i.e. not the lamestream media).

partisan divide as to whether people care about a foreign country interfering in our elections

the same poll asked whether people were optimistic/pessimistic regarding Trump:
A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds 54 percent of adults saying that they are either uncertain (25 percent) or pessimistic and worried (29 percent) about how Trump will perform during his presidency, compared with 45 percent with either an optimistic and confident view (22 percent) or a satisfied and hopeful view (23 percent).

That's a significantly worse outlook than Americans expressed after the elections of both Barack Obama and George W. Bush. A combined 66 percent were either optimistic or hopeful about Obama in January 2009, according to the same poll, while 59 percent were optimistic or hopeful about George W. Bush in January 2001.

That GWB number was when there was a contentious election that went to the goddamn Supreme Court and it's still way above Trump. Now, it was a joint NBC/WSJ poll, so what were their headlines?

NBC: Poll: Majority of Americans Pessimistic or Uncertain About Trump Presidency
WSJ: Poll Finds More Americans Now View Donald Trump Positively

Even goddamn Newsmax, a right-wing online rag of conspiracy and BS, highlighted the pessimism in their headline. Not sure what the WSJ gets out of misrepresenting the poll's findings to people who will only scan the headline.

I doubt we see anything but doubling and tripling down by the trumpians. he'll get us into WW3 with battles on our own turf and the trumpians will justify it
