The choice of Bannon (Breitbart) or Priebus (RNC) for chief of staff will tell us a lot.

Kasie Hunt @kasie
I asked @realDonaldTrump if he plans to ask Congress to ban Muslims from entering the country. He walked away.

George Takei @GeorgeTakei
Obama should tell the Senate they have 2 weeks to act on his nomination of Merrick for SCOTUS. If they waive their right he'll just appoint.

Dod friend had Hillary sticker ripped of car this morn (at home), and coffee poured all over car. Then…someone at work told him they hope “####s won’t be allowed to serve again under Trump.”

Well I haven't exactly gone out of my way to support or defend him to this point, and have pretty much just shit on him. I am hopeful he is not a complete trainwreck in the next four years, and might even advance some decent public policy by accident, and will probably defend him if he does so. So the association will probably only get worse if you're already having trouble at this juncture.

Probably. I have been trying to be optimistic the past few days. And Trump's behavior had been pretty good. Truly his victory speech and his meeting with Obama and him going largely radio silent are hopeful signals that he sorta gets that this is a big deal and he should care about being good at it. But god there are going to be moments, on all too regular of a basis, where he spirals us into crises. So embarrassing.
My party shouldn't have nominated a 70 year old child to be leader of the free world, and this country shouldn't have elected him leader of the free world.

If he's going to tweet, this is the sort of thing he should be tweeting about and condemning.
I'd like to believe that, deep down, Trump is not an active racist or bigot in the vein of a David Duke. But if he doesn't wake up and realize how much he's emboldened those who are, the result will be horribly the same.

This is the mildest of rebukes, and that is part of the problem. No one in the gop is going to say anything worse than "oh he'll probably have some bad moments on a regular basis"
We've had tens of hundreds of displays of ugliness and hatred since Tuesday. Republicans don't give a single shit that they nominated and got elected the worst candidate of all time.

WaPo constitutional scholar dude had an article yesterday and in the end argued that this was completely plausible and had legs. FWIW
