Maybe Dean can be assistant chair or something. Would prefer a new face and one who didn't bizzarely talk about Trump doing coke. Ellison is cool because he's black and from not the coast.

Who the party chairperson is is generally overrated. I loved to harp on DWS because I thought she was bad at every aspect of her job - she was bad on TV, wasn't a great fundraiser, didn't have any longterm strategic vision, had a habit of getting in nonsense controversies. But in the grand scheme of things she didn't fuck anything up or cost the Dems the election.

Would think a major lesson the institutional Democratic Party should take away from Tuesday is the party reallllly needs to work on party building efforts down ballot and in parts of the country away from major cities and the coasts. Picking a super progressive congressman who represents an extremely liberal city in Congress to become the new head of the party seems like an odd way to go about doing that, but maybe he understands grassroots building and the focus you all need on downballot stuff to rebuild the base of the party. I dunno, really don't know a ton about his background. And thank god BERNIE has endorsed him. Is Bernie still a Democrat?

I know Dean gets all that because he's done that before. His 50 state strategy was extremely useful in the Dem waves of 2006 and 2008. A lot of it was riding GWB's unpopularity and later Obama's star power, but the Dem run during his chairmanship was unprecedented and mindboggling. Him at the DNC, Rahm running the DCCC, Schumer running the DSCC, ridiculous lineup.

Well I haven't exactly gone out of my way to support or defend him to this point, and have pretty much just shit on him. I am hopeful he is not a complete trainwreck in the next four years, and might even advance some decent public policy by accident, and will probably defend him if he does so. So the association will probably only get worse if you're already having trouble at this juncture.

I can't remember who reported it on MSNBC today but apparently Trump prefers Bannon but there are people trying to talk him out of it. It would send a very bad message to the American people, making matters worse.
