My point is that tying her to a popular president isn't a good thing for them, but they don't accept that he's popular.

This to me is the big contrast between 2016 and 2008 and even 2012--Obama had a way of connecting with young voters, and it was part of a deliberate political strategy to mobilize them. I don't think the Hillary people really know how to do this.

The youth vote is overwhelmingly going for her.

Wisconsin is one of the states where Trump is having the most trouble shoring up GOP support, especially in the conservative Milwaukee suburbs, and Walker is extremely popular with that crowd and Obama isn't.

Okay then, let me put it another way.

If he's talking mostly to Wisconsin residents, he was their Governor for six of those last eight years. If they don't like the past eight years, then maybe, just maybe, their own Governor had something to do with that as well.

But what am I thinking... you're right. Of course they'll blame the brown dude rather than the guy whose policies have actual impacts on their daily lives.

I would assume the campaign knows that and that's about it. She was never going to enthuse young people the way Obama did.
