one prescient guy on this board said that Alex Jones was the voice of the GOP base years & years ago and I got yelled at by a rude dude from Georgetown.

A lot of Republicans unfortunately have been in denial. The Republican establishment will have to do a lot of soul searching after election day and decide if they will continue to enable Trump and his kind or they will take their party back.

Sadly, I don't see the latter happening because guys like Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio simply do not have the courage to do so. They just don't see the political benefit.

I don't know how this will end but I suspect the Republican party as we knew it is done.

it's not the end of the party at all and they won't do any soul searching. they'll just allow themselves to be dominated by crazier and crazier types so occasionally they can do things to ensure their rich friends have more money.

Joy Reid ‏@JoyAnnReid
Rep. Blake Farenthold just told @chrislhayes "that would be bad" & he'd have to "consider it" if Trump said on tape he likes raping women.

You could see his spirit just leave his body as the wacko was talking

This is chilling. I don't understand how someone arrives at the state of mind that this woman and so many others like her posses.

Some whacko on Facebook today said that she is really scared if Hillary becomes president as it will be a disaster for her family. Where does that kind of insane paranoia even come from? I want to crush these people on November 8.

Ted Cruz randomly appears hugging Epstein and showing off his bald spot

I was thinking at the beginning of this wondering if Theo was a conservative, because if he can win a WS with Boston and Chicago, he can turn the party around post Trump. Maybe run for Senate in NH or Iowa. Then Ted Cruz pops up out of nowhere. Shaheen's seat is up in 2020 and you could take over for a retiring Grassley in 2022, Theo. Then I saw he gave money to Martha Coakley. Martha Coakley! Oh well.

Josh Marshall compares Trump to an abusive husband and what that means for Ryan et al.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/fac ... users-rage

Think of your own experience. Bullies never pick out the strongest person to abuse. That defies the definition of a bully. Bullies seek out the weak. At the moment, the institutional GOP and its key leaders are exceptionally weak and vulnerable, even helpless. The best example: even as he continues to attack them, threaten a cataclysmic election outcome, they cannot even withdraw their endorsements. One senator who dropped him the day after the 'grab' tape leaked took him back today. Like an abuser who takes out his personal failures and frustrations and rages on his wife and his children, Paul Ryan and the GOP are now alone in the house with Donald Trump. He is angry and the prospect of defeat will no doubt make him angrier. In Trump's world of displacement, abuse and vengeance turning against the GOP is the most logical thing in the world.

Ouch.

Scranton Times-Tribune found and interviewed this guy - http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/kelly- ... -1.2102799

Mr. Seriani said he was aware of the viral reach of the image, and wished “it would go away already.”

“There were far worse signs than my shirt...,” he said. “I just got singled out. It’s a nightmare.”

I asked if he regretted wearing it.

“I regret that people have forgotten that free speech and freedom of expression are God-given rights. It’s just a word. It’s just a T-shirt. Do I have the same rights as the liberals that trash Donald TRUMP 24 hours a day?”

I do think the man is onto something, pointing out that "Trump" rhymes with "cunt" (or is close enough).

Best part is that he had to interview the guy via Facebook Messenger and TRUMP was in all caps every time.

on 'fraud' in Philadelphia:
@AriBFriedman
We monitored polls for @Committeeof70 the last time fraud was claimed. Saw 1 illegal sign stating ID was req and 1 minor issue. No stealing.

not exactly politics, but related as journalism support. wapo doing $39 for a year and you can share with another user. so if you can find someone to split with it's $19.50.

so the only impropriety found was likely on behalf of the party alleging fraud. interesting.
