it seems like a lot of people have basically realized he's too crazy to be president but they're holding out hope for the 3rd man to come down to the ring and bring about the new world order but it ain't gonna happen

"Very popular" might be a significant understatement. Other than his initial election in 1978, the only challenger who came within 40 points of him was Mark Warner in 1996... who obviously enjoyed the unique benefit of having the same last name as his opponent, creating a ton of confusion for underinformed voters during a Presidential election (Bob Dole took Virginia over Clinton and Perot 47-45-6). Even then, John Warner still outperformed Dole and won by 5 points.

There is not a single person in Virginia who will say a bad thing about John Warner, and he is extremely well-respected among senior citizens. This is a huge endorsement for Clinton.

I probably pay more attention to this crap than is healthy, but HRC apologized for her email decision approximately 7,328,442 different ways, at different lengths, in different tones of voice over the past few months. So "finally gave"? no.

She gave, and gave, and gave these answers, in an assortment of frames, & did it again Monday.

Frankly I don't think any of her reasons are especially persuasive, and I believe she & Willie are secretive in a way that's occasionally unsettling to anyone who remembers Nixon. But I do feel the issue is both stupid and waaaay over-addressed, particularly by Rs who apparently have no more pressing matters of public policy to occupy their handful of active braincells.

went down the rabbit-hole here and that guy died in the late 1960s from alcoholism but not before he had an affair with his step-mother Zsa Zsa Gabor. Gabor has had 9 marriages and is 99 years old living off a feeding tube. Crazy life.

so far 30 or so minutes in.

paints a pretty good picture of how trumps entire life has basically been a dick measuring contest. his relationship with roy cohn is pretty insightful too. basically learned how to be a slimeball from the guy.

When I see Hillary up 3 or 4 in Ohio and/or Florida I'll feel really good.

I did see most of it. Not incredibly illuminating but more of a confirming what we probably already know about each. Thought Trump looked worse in comparison. Good salesman, bad businessman; seeks the limelight; impetuous; thin skinned bully that used Roy Cohn (who they savaged as a lucifer-like figure) as a threat and attack dog. Clinton; careerist; smart, but secretive and untrusting; inclined to complicated policy solutions to problems (health care reform gambit; 16 bullet points when 3 would do...etc); scandal-prone

I challenge you to find a single public statement where she said "I’m not going to make any excuses. It was a mistake, and I take responsibility for that." She certainly didn't do it at the DNC, which was the last time that she had a captive national audience.

You read the start of my statement, then ignored the rest where I said that she always watered down those previous statements with lawyerly equivocations.

Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Something needs to stick to this guy finally.

I'm hoping now that Americans saw what a clown he was during the debate, you can push some sort of a narrative that clicks with people. I think the "that makes me smart" comment about his taxes is one thing perhaps. The other maybe his comment about not paying his contractors because "they didn't do a good job". Americans know all too well that that's not an excuse. You eat the steak, you pay for the steak. Just don't use them again.
