Fallon lost a lot of credibility with me last night. He's certainly no Jon Stewart, whose commentary is so needed right now.

I mean if he had legit enticed drumpf to do that he'd have risen to the level of deft political satire

I've seen Jay Leno interviews with Trump where Leno, who is probably America's most milquetoast night show host of all time prior to Fallon, gave Trump more guff.

That Letterman clip that Hillary used for a campaign video where Dave goes in on Trump about his ties are made is an absolute masterpiece.

So yeah, Fallon can rise above what he was last night... he just chose not to.

Letterman was probably close to a genius. He changed the whole idea of what a late night talk show could do. Fallon lacks the talent to be Letterman, but then so does pretty much everyone else. Unlike just about every other talk show host, Letterman was unusual in that he rarely sucked up to guests and at least in the early days Letterman could be subtly subversive. (Obviously Colbert and Stewart are far more subversive, but their shows are not subtle and they are more targeted at an audience already sympathetic to the political viewpoint of the show.)

it's one of the things comments section people aka Trump supporters aka Alex Jones fans aka the GOP base always say. if you're for tighter gun regulation then you should also not agree with having armed security for the POTUS. I hate Republicans so much.
