It's the approach to discourse/debate. I think what women experience is that rather than open a discussion, men barge in to correct them, and then explain the topic like the issue is the woman not understanding the subject matter.

Yeah it's generally a condescending explanation to topics that are more 'masculine' like sports, business, etc.
