It's the approach to discourse/debate. I think what women experience is that rather than open a discussion, men barge in to correct them, and then explain the topic like the issue is the woman not understanding the subject matter.
Yeah it's generally a condescending explanation to topics that are more 'masculine' like sports, business, etc.

ACTUALLY

I thought it was more when men explain to women things like sexual harassment or feminism or something.

I'd think there would be a bunch of them hanging around the art museum.

that is how i understand it, but i also think some work for fun or are bored or whatever. you know, run their dad's ice cream empire or investment company in name, show up to the office a few times a month, golf with "clients" all other days.

if my company's break room is any indication, plastic cutlery companies can go ahead and stop producing plastic knives

It depends--some "run" the family business or have a vanity business of their own, take interesting but not necessarily high paying jobs (It's an obvious good background for doing development work for non-profits) and such. If you do decide to party and join a band a stuff, you probably end up in rehab or dead at a pretty early age.

I guess it depends on what you mean by trust fund baby, but there are a handful of people around here who have jobs where family money (much of it from oil discovered around here in the 40s) allows a more lavish lifestyle than those jobs would normally allow.

same thing here; we go through forks like nobody's business, spoons have decent business, and knives are the black sheep. what can it really cut that you can't just cut in half with the side of the fork?

In my experience, the main purpose of plastic knives is spreading, not cutting. I've used them to slice a hard roll in half, and though it gets the job done, it's far from an optimal tool.

I've deduced that the guy that leaves boogers by the urinal is left handed, because the boogers appear on the left side of the urinal primarily. I've also noticed there is a newish, enormously beer bellied obnoxious guy that seems to be left hand dominant.

hmm. I'm a righty, and I hold the dick with the left, then use my cell for surfing BSG in the right. it's all so complicated.
