Not great, bob.

Hillary's campaign is fine, in fact, it's been mostly positive. She travels the country and actually speaks to real people, visits real small businesses, and learns along the way what's on their minds.

I will happily vote for her in November.

Back in the old thread PTK had a nice post on one of my greatest political influences, chris hedges. i really wish I could find it.

Here's a real nice piece from the convention and worth a read or listen. Hopefully a few of you will one day follow me, PTK to join the dark side.

Seriously. Looking for alternative sources of news/viewpoints is one thing. But if the site runs Vince Foster stories, you can safely move on.

The point was for everyone to take off their rose colored glasses and realize you can find shit on both candidates because they are both shitty candidates.

I dont mind Chris Hedges and it turns out I do own the book he wrote with Joe Sacco about Detroit. I haven't read it yet but I think Sacco is great, so I imagine I'll appreciate it.

I'm also willing to be pissed off by the leaked emails but no one ever does a good job convincing me why. This is supposed to be the paramount evidence against their content?

And the fact is, you know, in those long emails—you should read them. They’re appalling, including calling Dr. Cornel West "trash." It is—the whole—it exposes the way the system was rigged, within—I’m talking about the Democratic Party—the denial of independents, the superdelegates, the stealing of the caucus in Nevada, the huge amounts of corporate money and super PACs that flowed into the Clinton campaign.

so they called Dr West trash - not nice but I don't care.
independents being denied voting in party primaries - I think this is good, don't care.
SuperPacs - say what you will about Hillary but she is running on a platform to get rid of Citizen's United.

this is bullshit, laziness.

And the fact is, from climate change alone, we have no time left. I have four children. The future of my children, by the day, is being destroyed because of the fact that the fossil fuel industry, along with the animal agriculture industry, which is also as important in terms of climate change, are destroying the ecosystem on which we depend for life. And neither party has any intention to do anything about it.

Cornell West said President Obama was 'niggerized'. That's why he has been excoriated.

Sanders just created a 501c4. These allow you to not disclose your donors; a Super PAC would require it. You can debate the merits of both, but it seems ticky tack to go after Clinton for Super PACs and not Sanders fro a 501c4.

clinton had more votes in the general Nevada Caucus. In county conventions Sanders supporters showed up and voted for Sanders, tipping it to him. At the state convention more Clinton supporters showed up and it was decried as 'stealing' the election. Why wasn't it stealing at the county level?

from the WaPo back when it happened:

Prior to the state convention, some Sanders supporters began an effort to shift the convention rules in a way that they viewed as more favorable to their candidate. One of those changes, the Las Vegas Sun reported, was a process for verifying voice votes; another took issue with the state party chairwoman, Roberta Lange, heading up the convention. Supporters at the event circulated petitions to the same end. The scene was set.

The first report from the credentials committee on Saturday morning indicated that Clinton had a slight edge in delegates. Sanders fans voted against that report, per Jon Ralston, and then demanded a recount – but this was simply a preliminary figure…. That was when the vote to approve the rules as written – Roberta’s Rules versus Robert’s Rules, as some Sanders backers dubbed them – was conducted by voice vote. The motion, seconded by a Sanders supporter, passed – which is when the room, in Ralston’s phrasing, “erupts.”

the rule didn't get changed and they voted by actual vote not just by yelling. The 'purged' voters simply didnt follow the rules:
According to state party representatives, six of those were eventually allowed as delegates, and the rest were denied delegate or alternate status because either they or their records could not be located or they were not registered Democrats by the May 1 deadline

i can't believe i have to write about the primary again.

The DNC wanted Clinton to win, sure. They sent lots of emails back and forth about who they did and didn't like. They didn't 'rig' anything except for following the rules that were on the books, though. Perhaps in future elections certain rules should change (i'd be for expanding voting rules) but it's not near the same as voter suppression or rigging anything.

I remember that a few of the Bernie Nevada conspiracy folks thought it was a conspiracy to have the vote at a place with limited parking and a few people had to circle the block a bunch of times looking for parking and missed the vote.
