Well, it's not really arguing so much as it's grown up equivalent of stamping your feet in a temper tantrum. Just try not to slip on the piss

I'm the one who continually argues against positions that don't exist? I'm the one constantly having my points against Clinton being turned into "well, she's better than Trump" or "Bernie something something" or whatever. I'm talking about Hillary Clinton, not any of those other people.

I like the way you all get to gang up and mock whoever disagrees with you. A poster I respect once told me that this happens, but I guess you don't really get to see it fully until you're on the business end. Keep being assholes, guys.

JFLNYC wrote:SK, my friend, it's not that simple. In this Presidential election we have 6 choices: Trump, Hillary, Johnson, Stein, write in and no vote. I would submit that in making our choice it's impossible NOT to compare. How else can one make an informed choice?

In my case, I've compared the choices and decided that voting for Hillary is the best alternative. Hillary is not pure as the driven snow and I weigh her transgressions in my comparison.

You (or anyone else) may not like or agree with my calculus, but deciding she is the best choice does not mean I absolve her of all her transgressions nor does it make me stupid and/or uninformed. It means I'm a human being like all other human beings trying to muddle my way through an imperfect world. In that imperfect world there are few, if any, options for purity and politics is definitely not one of them.

The fact that this has been explained to me like 20 times should tip you all off that I'm well aware of the realities of the political state of the US. I don't know where you guys get this idea that I don't understand that Hillary is the best realistic choice given the options. I have not posted a single fucking time "hey don't vote for Hillary" or anything like that, yet youse feel the need to treat me like I do.

I would just like to point out Hillary's many faults without having to qualify it with "well, she's better than Trump" every time. Can't we just take that as a given?

Some poll has Clinton and Trump tied in Indiana. Mike pence is governor there.

He's not as popular there as some think though. In fact, I read that one reason why he was dying to be Trump's running mate was because he believed he would not win his re-election. He was lobbying for it harder than any potential VP ever has.

"you all" is hilarious in this context. i have a good idea who the poster you respect is, but you weren't really ganged up on until you started deciding everyone was a hillary supporter (woody's point about arguing againts something that isn't happening). nobody really gangs up on you, but you do love to portray that.

Trump campaign seems to have given up trying to reach new voters (IE win) & focused on scamming his base for money. The Trump campaign is to a real campaign what Trump University was to a real university. Same concept/same goal. Same results.

I spent last week driving 1300 miles through VA, MD, PA, OH, and NY. That gave me some perspective. In lower population zones Trump support/Clinton paranoia is healthy. In NY I particular the safe act (forms of gun control) is fuel to the fire.

As interesting was a stop in Cleveland (for a beer :-D @ Garden Market) where the server told me that business was really bad during the convention. His report was that the regulars left town, or stayed in, to avoid the crowds... Some of which were carrying on protests with "assault rifles". I can see how that might tamp down business.

In hip was largely stocked with fear mongering, mostly guns and the tied of immigrants waiting to swipe jobs. A great irony was the pretty spendy stop at Cedar Point was almost exclusively staffed with foreign exchange J visa holders living in what honestly looks like a retired prison (housing must be provided). Mostly Eastern European citizens had hundreds of summer jobs in the park, making me laugh when I saw a Slovienian think that the Donald would have approved.

The real story is the tale of two countries. The cities where the mood seems fairly positive supporting (relative/comparitave) sanity, and the rural population cowering in fear.

meanwhile, back at the dissolution of drumpf's fever dream, DiNiro likens drumpf to the fictional political actor he portrayed in Taxi Driver: Travis Bickle.

I'm more persuaded by his resemblance to anothe DiNiro character: Rupert Pupkin:

amazingly some mostly responsible people still say things like "drumpf has been entertaining!", which says more about the weight you should give to their reputations for responsibility than it does about his entertainment value

one underreported story is how Trump is the most physically repulsive and globular presidential candidate in maybe 50 years
