Has there ever been a nominee that so drastically changed his or her position during the campaign on the only issue that resulted in them being the nominee?

Trump, the candidate: "We need to deport all of them, immediately"
Trump, the nominee: "Syke"

Now he's back to saying they'd all have to leave, but maybe they could come back.

His surrogates on regular TV will emphasize that he's showing sympathy to Hispanics or some such thing. His talk radio and Breitbarty supporters will take the flip back at face value. And the beat goes on.

pro-Trump conservative Latina wrote a piece about why he's so good for Latinos. Before I even clicked I made a guess that she was Cuban...and she was!

one of her main points: Trump didn’t insult Latinos when he announced his candidacy.

Assange went on Fox News to say there is a 'significant leak' coming right before the election. Why not now? Who are you to say we don't need to know yet?

we all know why not. he wants to sway the election...but if he wants to sway it he wants to sway it to whom? and why?

Assange on FOX:
"I'd like to believe that no media organization would not publish the DNC emails," Assange told Fox News' "The Kelly File". "[But] I think MSNBC wouldn't publish [nor would] The New York Times ... That's sad."

They did. There was a lot of coverage in both of the 'DNC emails'.

Maybe he's finally succumbed to cabin fever.

Republican leaders Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have ducked questions about Clinton’s denunciation of the alt-right. But the question has already been answered. Party leaders who can accept Trump as their nominee have made a public admission that racism in the Republican coalition is a fact of political life they are willing to live with.

The hypocrisy of Fox News interviewing a fucking criminal like Assange just because his leaks are damaging to Hillary is mind-blowing. Especially after calling Edward Snowden a traitor to our country.

re: mainstream GOP

Party leaders being too cowardly to give quotes that might make life (more) difficult for their party's nominee =/= embracing white supremacy.

Look, you can continue down this road all you want, but if you honestly believe that white supremacy (as opposed to intentional or unintentional bigotry, which is a very different animal) is a core tenet of the mainstream of approximately 40-45% of the country, then we're fucked for this election and probably for a long time. Luckily, I don't believe that.

And I can't believe I'm defending the GOP on anything.

Recent interview with him he said he doesn't hold back information for political timing. Shocking that he's a liar

Kellyanne Conway on Friday said Donald Trump "deserves credit" for taking his case directly to African-American voters. "Republican presidential nominees usually aren't bold enough to go into communities of color and take the case right to them and compete for all ears, compete for all votes," Trump's campaign manager told ABC's "Good Morning America. "They've been afraid to do that. So Mr. Trump deserves credit."

Putting aside the "credit" piece of this bullshit, his case literally was "what the hell do you have to lose?". Strong.
