I've thought this on and off for a while, but there are others things that point to him not wanting out.

Maybe he's a manchurian candidate for the GOP. Push the conversation far to the right and then be forced to give up the spot to someone who will look moderate by comparison (even though they are also far right wing). Hey, suddenly Cruz doesn't look as bad.

Also also, Cruz is far right in a very different way from Trump, who appears to have no particularly set principles except for authoritarianism, which we think of as a "right wing" attribute, I guess, but truth be told has been a characteristic of dictators whose actual policies fell throughout the political spectrum. Cruz is a genuine right wing zealot, and also, of course, an asshole.

The crazy thing is that after the Hillary statement he said some really confusing, potentially trutherism type stuff about Scalia's death.

I don't see any trutherism there. It's hard to tell because it reads like an unfinished Mad Libs, much like all of his transcripts do.

I really don't think he's trying to lose. I think he's genuinely this stupid and is losing it. Which is surprising as I'd thought he already lost it.

Of course he's not trying to lose. He's just a con man. He's won enough big cons in his day to be rich (although I'm sure not as rich as he wants us to believe), but now he's simply run into a con which is just too big for him and he can't con enough people to pull it off.

It's almost 7pm ET. Why has NO responsible elected Republican already asked drumpf to either apologize clearly and unequivocally before the end of the day or withdraw his candidacy. This is the 21st century. Some things can & should happen quickly

Yes, I've seen several versions of the movie. I think it's a term used (or at least it's the way I used it) to mean someone being used outside of their control, as some kind of sleeper agent. That's what I meant by it.

It's just hilarious/sad how many people believe Hillary is going to abolish the 2nd amendment. The NRA narrative in all of this sickens me.

Obviously not a bombshell but it continues to be a bad look.

In a separate email exchange, Mr. Band [former Clinton foundation Global initiative leader] passed along to Ms. Abedin and Ms. Mills a request for “a favor” from an associate who had recently been on a Clinton Foundation trip to Haiti and was apparently seeking work at the State Department.
...
In one undeleted section, however, Mr. Band wrote that it was “important to take care of” the associate’s request. A short time later, Ms. Abedin wrote back to say: “We all have him on our radar. Personnel has been sending him options.”

The Speaker is up 90%-10% in early returns (from Waukesha) and will go down because there is no where else quite like Waukesha County. But one imagines he will be OK.

He'd probably recommend you look at polls-plus (which is still a comfortable 79%)
