Spending on ads wouldn't do a hell of a lot until he stops fucking up catastrophically on a near daily basis.

All things equal that's true, but if they do plan to spend on ads they are sitting out the Olympics, which seems absurdly dumb given America's viewing habits.

He's spent something like 20% of his total campaign funds, roughly $11MM, on goods and services provided by companies he owns. that must be a yuge bucket.

But a lot of that is actual costs - if he's renting Trump office space or paying to fly his jet around or whatever, that's either forgoing income or paying for fuel/employees/etc. The amount of money he is 'making' in using his properties is a tiny fraction of the $50+ mil he's put up. And he legally has to pay himself for these things to comply with campaign finance rules.

I got that from a 'fact checking' column that was put up August 8th. not a good look if that fact checker is wrong. :dh:

is it really 50MM+? i read somewhere it was like 38MM?

i know he's not getting every bit of that 11MM back, but the fact that he's getting anything substantial back from his own presidental campaign is gross to me.

moreover, who gives a fuck if he spent $XXMM? on his own campaign. that was his decision. nobody forced him to take out 8-figure loans to run his campaign of hatred. he did it willfully.

If Trump ran ads with titties it might help.

horrible:
QUETTA, Pakistan — A bomb went off on the grounds of a hospital in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta on Monday, killing at least 69 people, most of them lawyers.

The suicide attack took place shortly after the body of a prominent lawyer killed in a shooting earlier in the day was brought to the government-run facility, senior police official Zahoor Ahmed Afridi told The Associated Press.

It was unclear if the two events were connected, although a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban claimed in an email that it had carried out both attacks.

A spokesman for the group, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaatul Ahrar, said it first killed provincial president of Balochistan Bar Association, Bilal Kasi, and then carried out a suicide attack on lawyers when they gathered to protest his killing.

Targeted killings have become increasingly common in Quetta, the capital of a province that has seen rising violence linked to a separatist insurgency as well as sectarian tensions and rising crime.

Several ethnic Baluch separatist groups operating in the resource-rich province, but al Qaeda and other militant groups also have a presence there.

Quetta has also long been a base for the Afghan Taliban, whose leadership has regularly held meetings there in the past.

The White House and U.S. State Department both condemned the attacks, saying America remained committed to helping Pakistan confront terrorism.

90+ protesters killed by Ethiopian government:
Protests started in November against a government plan to change municipal boundaries to integrate parts of Oromia into the capital, but have spread amid widespread discontent about the country’s anti-democratic government.

Amnesty claimed that hundreds more protesters have been rounded up by the country into police and military detention centres.

The state-owned Ethiopian News Agency said "illegal protests" by "anti-peace forces" had been brought under control but made no mention of casualties.

Not really sure that's his targeted demographic. Maybe he's waiting for college football or will put a crap load on WWE broadcasting. Where's threecount when you need him?

29 million people watched NBC's Olympic coverage last night. Just weird to not have something running.

Olympic coverage is about feeling good about america. Trump's campaign is about feeling bad about america.

trump does have an olympic ad deal with NBC. his ads will run right after the US suffers any humiliating defeat.

Given Quinnipiac's lean this cycle and the amount of time they were in the field (i.e. partially before things got real bad) those are awful numbers for the guy my party nominated to be president of the United States

Also - http://varianceexplained.org/r/trump-tweets/ - interesting investigation of the differences between Tweets from the Trump feed in Android vs. iPhone
