Yeah, it looks like most of them aren't even paying attention.

Good God...

Hillary isn't president, but...

It is a felony to threaten the life of the president of the United States.

I am interested to see what happens with this. He was joking, but this is not a joke. Short of an absolute direct threat against the life of a public official, this is about the worst thing he could have said.

I am trying to decide if I am over-reacting here. To me this would have to merit a very serious consequence, like disqualification from the ballot. You simply cannot say that.

Somebody help me out here, am I wrong? This has got to be the end or close to it, no?

It's unacceptable, plain and simple. It's gotten to a point now where Trump can say anything yet Hillary is maligned because God forbid she misspeaks about what Comey said about her emails.

It's ridiculous now.

The best is going to be the next 48 hours of non-apologies and further hole digging with Trump surrogates offering the:

"He was really calling on pro-gun advocates to come together to beat Hillary this November" defense

and the "Well, it's not really a big deal he was joking and he obviously doesn't want anything bad to happen" defense

Which are mutually exclusive but will be shamelessly offered in tandem

Guy, I'm not sure what you're watching, but Trump is getting pretty maligned.

Something like this has me thinking that he is, in fact, attempting to get out of this somehow, without resorting to committing an actual felony.

Not really. He's saying terrible things, and he's imploding in the polls as a result. He clearly cannot just say anything.

He probably wants to be a martyr if "forced" to drop out rather than be humiliated in November.

from the liberal Red State, Roger Stone (one of Trump's hatchet men) admits getting in contact with Wikileaks' Julian Assange

"Well, it could be any number of things," Stone replied. "I actually have communicated with Assange. I believe the next tranche of his documents pertain to the Clinton Foundation but there's no telling what the October surprise may be."

Yeah I saw the same on CNN before I wrote that. Haven't seen the HE WAS JOKING defense from anyone official, but it's coming due to the fact that this first defense is implausible to anyone who watches the clip.

im not sure if it's the increased scrutiny as the election nears or if it's just the fact that the recipient of his batshit craziness isn't shitwagon Ted Cruz anymore, but I'm glad this stuff is finally starting to drown him.

I've thought this on and off for a while, but there are others things that point to him not wanting out.

Maybe he's a manchurian candidate for the GOP. Push the conversation far to the right and then be forced to give up the spot to someone who will look moderate by comparison (even though they are also far right wing). Hey, suddenly Cruz doesn't look as bad.

I don't think that's what happens in the Manchurian Candidate

Also the GOP likes Ted Cruz about as much as Mets fans like Jimmy Rollins.

I swear on my life, I really think Donald Trump is trying to lose now on purpose.

Where is that intervention? What about his daughter? Surely, the family must see that his brand and their future is getting destroyed.
