in NBC/WSJ poll, Trump trails Clinton among African-Americans by 91%-1%
there's a bit of a chicken and the egg story going on here that I'd love to see someone smart report about. the only reason this isn't at Reagan Mondale levels yet is because there's enough white men to vote for Trump. if the GOP didn't aggressively push policies and agendas that criminalizes and demonizes minority communities & individuals, would they have enough votes to win this election, or are their policies the reason white men will so reliably vote for them?
outside of America demonstrating how dumb it is again, I think this racial split is the biggest story coming out of this election.
Remember 7 years ago when every pundit said the GOP needs to get more minority voters? Welp, they spent the past 7 years continuing their coded racism, championing policies that hurt the poor (lots of minorities are poor), and nominated a guy who wants to build a wall and round up illegals who are by the way rapists.
It's amazing anyone who is not a white male would support this dumpster fire of a party. I really can't figure it out other than just coming to the conclusion that this country is mostly full of the politically ignorant and that the Democrats really suck at winning votes.
Following politics the last year has been extremely depressing.
I suspect that most of those voting for Trump are single issue voters, probably gun supporters, evangelicals who vote social issues, etc. But let's also be honest, a good portion of those are bigots who simply are terrified by the fact that the country's demographics are changing. Their white America just doesn't exist anymore.

looked like Georgia was trending Hillary before the D/RNCs even moreso than other states. early polls were heavy trump, but it was closer to 2-5 points pre-conventions whereas other states tended to show only modest gains toward hillary.
at least that's what i gleaned from looking at the RCP and 538 databases, i could be dead wrong.
