I've probably made this point about 20 times, but it probably is worth repeating. One of the key GOP strategies when dealing with an opponent is to accuse their opponent of doing the things that the GOP person is actually doing. People have been saying Trump is unhinged, dangerous, forgetful, under a foreign power, etc. So he comes back and says that Clinton is all of those things, though he adapts it slightly to her personalty. So this week she's been called dangerous, brainwashed (under the power of some outsider), unhinged, etc. This is just an attempt to go tit for tat, making the populace feel like there is no difference between the two.

Sadly, it will work among those people who aren't crazy about Clinton and/or think there is no difference between the parties. On a related note, my mom strongly falls into the second group, but she has made the exception in this election because Trump is so obviously insane. I'm hoping she represents the majority and this tact by Trump will not work.

yeah, i'm also a big subscriber to that theory. the meta concern troll by the GOP is complaining that the government doesn't work well while trying to actively inhibit it. turns out government doesn't work well when you're trying to undermine it for political reasons like the way some right leaning states did with the rollout of Obamacare or when you flat out try to cut or not approve proper funding for certain programs(really, just too many to list on this one).

Jeb's son has always worried me as the next Bush that will come into power. He has the hispanic thing which will help the GOP in the long run and he obviously has the power of the Bush family behind him (if that matters anymore). He has come out and said that the GOP should get in line behind Trump. I don't know if this is a cynical attempt to get noticed by Trump's voters for a future run or if he's insane. Either way, I hope people remember this when he's running for office down the road.

in NBC/WSJ poll, Trump trails Clinton among African-Americans by 91%-1%

there's a bit of a chicken and the egg story going on here that I'd love to see someone smart report about. the only reason this isn't at Reagan Mondale levels yet is because there's enough white men to vote for Trump. if the GOP didn't aggressively push policies and agendas that criminalizes and demonizes minority communities & individuals, would they have enough votes to win this election, or are their policies the reason white men will so reliably vote for them?

outside of America demonstrating how dumb it is again, I think this racial split is the biggest story coming out of this election.

Remember 7 years ago when every pundit said the GOP needs to get more minority voters? Welp, they spent the past 7 years continuing their coded racism, championing policies that hurt the poor (lots of minorities are poor), and nominated a guy who wants to build a wall and round up illegals who are by the way rapists.

It's amazing anyone who is not a white male would support this dumpster fire of a party. I really can't figure it out other than just coming to the conclusion that this country is mostly full of the politically ignorant and that the Democrats really suck at winning votes.

Following politics the last year has been extremely depressing.

BREAKING FIRST ON @Morning_Joe: Multiple sources say an independent conservative candidate will announce his candidacy for president today.

Joe Scarborough ‏@JoeNBC 6m6 minutes ago
The candidate revealed by sources has an impressive resume and the backing of key $$ contributors in the Republican Party.

Joe Scarborough ‏@JoeNBC 5m5 minutes ago
Though he is connected with Republican politics, sources are saying the potential candidate has never held elective office.

Multiple sources tell me the candidate is Evan McMullin. Wharton grad, CIA alum, Goldman Sachs, Republican Policy Director, US House

He went to BYU so it may actually make Utah even tougher for Trump with a thin margin there.

guess it only matters for a handful of states like georgia, arizona, PA, ohio, FLa. if he can get on ballots there and take away a few thousand votes from Trump, it could matter. otherwise, this is meaningless.

If he campaigns exclusively in Utah maybe he can put the state in play for Hillary.
