The back legs and back arch don't look very much like a housecat.

A mountain lion is a fucking cougar. An adult male can weigh over 200 pounds and can be like 6 feet long.

That's a godamn outside orange tabby

Yeah - after further look it appears the zoom threw me for a loop.

I hope to never see one out here, but they've been spotted in Tucson before. Our friends have two bobcats that hang out in their backyard from time to time. Even take a swim.

I mean can't be 100% sure. But it just doesn't look big enough in the hind quarters or tail to be anything close.

Show the pic to PA DCNR or game commission though.

There's a whole thing with cougar hoaxes in PA. Some people think pa dcnr introduced them to kill the deer. Its dumb.

http://blog.pennlive.com/wildaboutpa/20 ... ted_m.html

That was from last year.

There are hundreds of cougar sightings every year in pa.

Officially eastern cougar have been extinct since 1938.

Slowhand brings up a good point actually. The private property sign Behind the cat is just about bigger than the cat.

Kinda funny local police are facebooking the photo. Exactly how stuff starts lol

They have the ability to kill prey larger than themselves and can leap 20 feet or more

They can also run 35 mph

They will disclose at the national parks here that if you encounter one you need to take off your sunglasses.

Yup. They want to look you in the eyes before they kill you.

Assume you're talking about Wildwood in general.

They're building a new turmpike exit 2 miles west of norristown and 5 miles east of king or prussia. I guess the best case argument is that it will east traffic on the germantown & ridge pike corridors between norristown and the new exit, but that's pretty weak sauce. Some sort of boondoggle goin' on here.
