Ended up with a mess of white perch, lots of undersized striped bass, a few spot, and I caught a 40 pound cownose ray. My kids were dumbfounded when I got up next to the boat and they saw it flapping its wings. It actually straightened out my hook so release was easy.

On a sadder nose, we also caught two 28 inch stripers that were badly infected with mycobacteriosis, a terrible infection that can be passed to humans and is lethal if not treated promptly. The Maryland DNR believes up to 70% of stripers have the disease, which ends up being fatal to fish. Brutal stuff, the water quality in the Bay, while the best its been in years, is still in need of major improvement.

Go for rockfish in the chesie fairly often. Last time I was down almost every fish had those sores

The one nice thing is that we were getting speckled trout too which haven't been showing up there for years. That was cool to mix in.

California roads and highways may be marginally better than Pennsylvania, but damn can't beat the 4g in the middle of nowhere.

Best burgers by the beach. Before azrider was azrider, ob was an old haunt. Amazing how many of the business there after years and years still exist.
