It's not that it's a Trump state. It's that in any Trump path to 270, he's going to need Pennsylvania.

I don't think that's his argument though, he seems to think white voters in PA are trending Republican and the evidence to support that is weak at best. All of his other arguments are rooted in that assumption being correct.

Becoming Republican compared to national trends - which are moving in the opposite direction. Pennsylvania is becoming *relatively* more Republican, while other swing states like Virginia and Colorado are becoming *relatively* more Democrat.

The Philly area is trending more Democratic but the rest of the state is definitely trending more Republican, largely due to little demographic change and a lack of a population growth. It's an old state and older people tend to vote at higher rates and for more Republicans.

It's the best of bad options, I think. Only plus side is that investing in infrastructure is one of the few areas we can be pretty sure the money gets back to middle class workers, especially in a labor friendly state.

No offense w/r/t your last point, but I'll believe it when I see it.

There's a large real demographic in the various valley areas north of Philly that Trump is directly speaking to. Largely the white, former middle class. These are my people. I understand them and they are frighteningly susceptible to bad logic.

what's going on here?

Cameron telling Corbyn, the leader of Labour, to resign. The Labour Party MPs voted 172-40 that they have no confidence in him yesterday, but he's signalling that he's going to go all out to hold on.

My family is a historically blue dog family. Every member of my family over 40 is/was/benefited from labor unions. They've voted Dem since they could vote. Half of them are voting for Trump.

it could be explained to them that donald trump despises labor unions.

my family is entirely voting Clinton, as they did in the primary.

tried that route, it failed. they don't care, they're convinced anyone not white and American is coming to take their job and that Trump is the man to fix it for some reason. in fairness, i have other family members who were personally screwed by trump in Atlantic City so glad i won't be home for the holidays, i guess.

Utah's Misty Snow won the Democratic Senate primary so she will be facing Mike Lee. She's the first transgender candidate in history.
