You mean the initial projection? If I recall correctly (and not from 2012, but from Silver on the podcast this week it was much tighter...something like 60/40 Obama in the very early going). By election night it was a near certainty.

For Direct Loans I think there are five adjusted repayment options:
1) Revised Pay As You Earned
2) Pay As You Earn
3) Income Based Repayment
4) Income-Contingent Repayment
5) Income-Sensitive Repayment

The first two are 10% of your discretionary income, and the third is 10%-15%. The fourth one is either 20% discretionary income or the amount you would pay on a fixed, 12 year plan. The last one is based on annual income, but it doesn't have a formula, studentaid.gov says it can vary from lender to lender.

That's what I'm paying currently on a repayment plan. Law school was a great use of my time and money. To be honest, the blame is like 97% on me, since my end game was to be making around what I am currently, but in a DA's office instead of a welfare office.

I kind of think student loan relief is one area the government is doing pretty great. IBR has made my life much easier, at least

of course, that's only if all your loans are federal

i have loans outside of AES. i think it's 4 in total and they're all with different accounts. i guess maybe i should look into consolidating them and that might help with the payments, but i haven't looked into it much yet.

Might as well take this to the podcast thread with all the ads for it I hear on them but I have multiple friends who have had success with SoFi.

I have mostly private loans because of a bunch of different reasons. I will be paying ~$1000 a month for 10 years.

yes, consolidate, especially with interest rates at what they are.

My advice may not be applicable if you are in a repayment program, but one other thought... If the loans are different interest rates, you may not be better off consolidating unless they gave you a significant decrease in those interest rates. With different loans, you can focus on paying down the higher interest loan first, and then could take your time on a lower rate. For instance:

$10k loan at 7% for 10 years
$10k loan at 5% for 10 years

Maybe they give you just under 6% if you consolidate. If you don't consolidate, you can pay down the first loan with extra principal payments, effectively lowering your average interest rate over time as the first one is paid down faster. You wouldnt get the same benefit if you consolidated.

There are a bunch of calculators out there that may help your decision.

that is a good point, depending how much the balances are, what would save the most dollars, etc.

So did the market stabilize this week because it thinks Brexit won't be that bad...or because they think it actually won't happen?

Thanks for the advice guys, but I took vector calculus and differential equations in college, I think I can figure out interest. :)

they say it's because of free trade and security. the numbers in their pollsshow white men hate Clinton.

no clue otherwise; she was up 5 in their previous poll.

edit: the other poll they are highlighting is one regarding Benghazi where 49% of people think 'Clinton lied to victim's families' . basically, if you dislike her, the report and the 8 investigations don't matter to you because' she lied and people died'. asking it with that in the question is a bit of a push poll, in my mind.
