That's kind of silly to decline a speaking offer at the Republican national convention. What, these people don't think they can draft a compelling message about their vision of conservatism? You dont have to mention Trump at all.

I tend to agree with you, but the convention is the first big 'coming out' for the party in terms of pitching at the average voter in the election cycle and simply appearing with Trump is enough to get branded a Trumpette, to many.

Does it get a re-trial or is it a double jeopardy thing? I think it seems right from my limited reading of Roberts' decision.

Per a quick google, it can be re-tried.

he can be re-tried but it would need to be under a different statute than bribery or they'd need to show more evidence of explicit corruption; the implication of bribery basically isn't enough. circumstantial evidence isn't enough.

"There is no doubt that this case is distasteful; it may be worse than that," Roberts wrote. "But our concern is not with tawdry tales of Ferraris, Rolexes, and ball gowns. It is instead with the broader legal implications of the Government's boundless interpretation of the federal bribery statute. A more limited interpretation of the term 'official act' leaves ample room for prosecuting corruption, while comporting with the text of the statute and the precedent of this court."

Say what you want about the guy, on the topic of "money in politics", Roberts is unswerving in his attitude that it ain't no thing, at any level or in any form
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

His hats are really awkward looking. You'd think a guy with that hair would look better wearing a hat.

Yup, no chance that the prosecutor goes for a second trial. They don't have him on an "official action" anymore.

So, kids, go into politics! Supplement your family income by taking bribes! Just renege on them and they can never convict you!

He responded by calling her a racist.

Scott Brown followed by calling for her to have a DNA test done to determine if she really is Native America.

I ordered two of them.

One to take a dump in and the other to cover it up.
