I'm leaning Frigidaire as their units have a 'Sleep mode' for quieter operation at night. Most of the reviews point out how quiet they are too.

It's worth keeping in mind that it's 50 pounds in a slick plastic casing, so wheeling it through the apartment and lifting it into the tub to drain strains my definition of portable, especially since you usually need to do it on the hottest, most humid days.

I bought 40 pounder on Amazon that is 10,000 btu. If it sucks I'll return it, but I think I can rig a more convenient drainage system

I thought so too but the plug is too low to use a container as an external reservoir. Why the reservoir isn't a removable container is mind bottling.
