Matt "Too clever by half? I''M too clever by ONE and a half!" Yglesias posts maps, makes bold statements, walks them back in the last couple paragraphs and leaves you right where you were at the beginning of whatever topic he twists up into his own furiously masturbatory little fever dream
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

it proves nothing! toothless yokels, the lot of them! when they wake up and realize that Rubio holds all the same views but with even more neoconness, they'll switch their votes!

I still also think if Rubio or Cruz or any of the other guys were even half viable candidates Trump wouldn't be as much of a thing.

Also, I do think the anger that seems to be driving our politics today is all out of proportion to what's really happening. But then again, I guess I'm pretty privileged. Let's be clear though--this outrage is not really being driven by poor people, it's being driven by people who are relatively well off and are angry anyway.

Turnip focusing on the issues, namely "is Rubio eligible for the Presidency?".

If I'm one of the R candidates I ask for Turnip's certified birth certificate. I'm pretty sure he's an alien. I mean a real alien. A space alien. From Uranus

Poor people aren't supporting Trump or Sanders. I bet Hillary wins Flint by a large margin.

You're welcome to think that, but that's never happening, for too many reasons to list. "It doesn't make any sense" is the main one. Help me - spell out why you think it makes any sense.

look at what/who (the subjects, not the guesser) we're talking about here. Why would it have to make sense

I guess I see the VP slot as a step to the Pres spot. Trump may even go for only one term since I doubt he'd really enjoy being pres.

I guess Trump plans on winning the WH utilizing the only strategy from which he has ever found success - the lawsuit. The irony for me is how many times the GOP candidates have called Obama to the carpet for supposedly destroying America's image abroad. It really would be funny if it weren't so fucking tragic.

The outrage seems to be coming from people wishing for some fictional "good old days" where they could openly say racist, homophobic, etc... things. Trump really does seem to speak to the latently racist white Northeasterner.

in contrast, i have not met a single trump supporter out here or even seen a single trump sign/sticker/anything. i know i live in deep blue seattle, but he's really hated here. one food truck i work with tied a trump doll that was beaten to hell to their bumper and they told me they saw an increase in business because of it. this is all very anecdotal, but if Peggy Noonan can get paid for this shit, i can post it on backshegoes.com.

the poll numbers agree, trump is very unpopular in the west.

Just saw a Toomey ad talking about how the next president should choose the next justice. Really going hard on that.

There are SOME Trump supporters around these parts. I know a few. We live in a pretty liberal part of Washington. I'm not sure who the non-King County folks prefer.

I saw a map somewhere showing he's polling poorly everywhere in WA. I'll try to find it when I'm not posting from a long line at Safeway...
