I am a hypochondriac. A lot of people use the term lightly or in a joking manner, but it's real and it's crippling and a shitty way to live life. In the past five years, I've diagnosed myself with testicular cancer, melanoma, ALS, and colon cancer. Most of the time, I have to have actual medical tests to ease my mind, and then I go about my way for some time until I blow another symptom out of proportion -- my version of hypochondria is known as "somatic symptom disorder," meaning I have actual symptoms that I automatically assume are caused by something serious. Then, you can "feel" that symptom after the fact, and focusing on it makes it worse.

I've been making myself sick for months and i'm finally going to therapy for it this month
