So if Rubio's the nominee, and I think he will be, how many Latino votes does he pull from the dems? And does he change the shape of their voting habits going forward. If I'm a dem leader, his showing tonight would scare me for this election and those to come.

and where do Trump's supporters go? I guess that will decide the nominee. It would seem Cruz based on the crazy factor, but I have to think support gels behind Rubio now. But that doesn't mean the teapartiers will oblige, I guess.

Hmmmm, still think it's Rubio.

I still think it'll be Cruz. He's a wildly unlikable and dangerously conservative guy so he plays well to the current GOP base.

Also, he's somehow seen as not establishment despite playing politics as much as anyone on the GOP side. I'm betting on the best huckster, basically.

The coronation of rubio in this thread is a bit premature. He is polling in the single digits in New Hampshire. Primaries are different than these weird ass caucuses.

But I still don't think Trump wants to win. He was running a Carson sham that got out of hand.

The establishment will go with Rubio and at some point the money will make a difference.

His third place finish in Iowa should scare people? What are you going on about?

He was polling at 17% going into the night and grabbed 23%. It was a stronger than expected finish.

I don't think it's a coronation as much as a semi-educated guess.

I agree Rubio will have more trouble in the primaries, but when you look at who voted for him in Iowa (younger people, for example), I think he will do well in the bigger states. We'll see. Things are definitely trending in his direction. It's not so much that he's strong as the others being so weak (or uninterested in Trump's case, imo)

This is kinda my take, though I don't agree with all of it. Look who voted for him and how they came to do it. There's significant movement towards Rubio.

It has been noted that caucus polls in Iowa are often pretty useless.

Rubio was 3.5 or 4 to 1 to win the nomination before yesterday. He's worse than even money now. It was a huge night for him. He was within 6% in a dumbass (ok, evangelical, rural, whatever) state where he didn't even try to have a big ground game.
