Rubio doing better than expected
Get the feeling that once the other establishment candidates drop out that he'll end surging late and win

Pretty sure Huckabee won in Iowa a couple of elections ago. I feel like the winner isn't as important as the people who get absolutely no support.

Currently going back and forth with the old man: he's leaning towards voting for Rubio because he believes he's more "electable." I feel differently, obviously: can't stomach the thought of another K Street Republican after Bush II.

Never done one of these before: should be interesting

That was ~ 1.5 hours I'll never get back

These town hall type settings really illustrate how stupid most people are, whether they support "my" candidate or not. Some of the speeches made in support of the candidates were absolutely cringe worthy.

Happy Cruz won, but disappointed that Rubio polled at over 20%: the establishment had already started pushing the "momentum" angle with him and he did nothing to dissuade Fox News from declaring him THE WINNER TONIGHT. In the end I'll be surprised if he isn't the guy: all of the money that's gone to Jeb! will continue to flow towards him now.

Delagate-wise, it doesn't really matter whether hillary gets 51/bernie gets 49 versus the other way around right? The news networks' excitement is just narrative bs at this point correct?

Saw a video that one precinct was decided by a coin flip between Sanders and Clinton. Clinton won so she gets the delegate or whatever. That's democracy!

Rubio's tactic now if you don't want Trump or Cruz vote for me. Probably will work for him.

Because I don't want another democrat-lite establishment GOP nominee. We tried that with Bush for eight years and instead got record levels of government growth and spending from an alleged "conservative" despite also controlling congress for most of his tenure. Plus all of the other stupid shit he did.

Cruz and Paul (my preferred candidate between the two by far if he had a shot) are the only two true conservatives who will take unpopular positions and fight for them. Rubio, OTOH, is an opportunist hack IMO. I don't really agree with Cruz's foreign policy ideas, but he's also much smarter than most of the field: you know he's a bright dude when someone like Alan Dershowitz says he's off the charts brilliant. I trust him to nominate good supreme court justices, and that's ultimately where the battle will be won or lost.

Thankfully Trump's lead will end up being a mirage like Dean twelve years ago: someone like him being branded as the face of conservatism would set it back twenty plus years.

I have a little faith left in this nation and with that little faith, I have to think there can be no way a nutcase like Cruz can get the nomination so Rubio has to win... I'd also like to see Sanders string Hillary along as long as possible... Clinton vs Rubio looks most likely though

Rubio being within 1 percent of Trump is huge for the R's I think and really bad for Trump. His whole platform is I'm a winner and he's closer to third than first.

Cruz declared the winner. Is it win er take all? It's such a small amount of delegates. It really doesn't even matter.

Mike Huckabee and Walter Mondale have suspended their campaign... Spiro Agnew may be next
