Yeah but it doesn't really mean much. Real test will be an actual primary.

for my own benefit, I hope Rubio runs away with this. I'm obviously not a fan of him politically but having diseased pumpkin-head man Ted Cruz or racist ass, raping ass Trump on my television every night would create so much bile in me.

He decidedly beat the other establishment people. It's really important for him to clear the field.

Because I don't want another democrat-lite establishment GOP nominee. We tried that with Bush for eight years and instead got record levels of government growth and spending from an alleged "conservative" despite also controlling congress for most of his tenure. Plus all of the other stupid shit he did.

Cruz and Paul (my preferred candidate between the two by far if he had a shot) are the only two true conservatives who will take unpopular positions and fight for them. Rubio, OTOH, is an opportunist hack IMO. I don't really agree with Cruz's foreign policy ideas, but he's also much smarter than most of the field: you know he's a bright dude when someone like Alan Dershowitz says he's off the charts brilliant. I trust him to nominate good supreme court justices, and that's ultimately where the battle will be won or lost.

Thankfully Trump's lead will end up being a mirage like Dean twelve years ago: someone like him being branded as the face of conservatism would set it back twenty plus years.

Turnip and Cruz are both odious self-absorbed sociopaths & both would get crushed in a general election. Rubio won't win, but he won't incinerate what's left of the GOP. Paul isn't a conservative. Other than that, great points!

Quite a speech for Rubio... if he wins a primary, it will be like Bill Pullman's Independence Day speech I would guess... God was thanked multiple times

Turnip should stay with his "1st in outrageousness" platform & just say "fuck it, that's it for me, I quit, thanks for coming out!"

Yeah, this should precipitate a quick consolidation of Rubio as the nominee presumptive. Rubio will now win NH, Trump's last stand will be SC; if Cruz can pull it out there, Trump will withdraw, and you'll get Rubio-Cruz the rest of the way; Cruz will do well in the South but fade down the stretch.

I mean, relatively speaking. I expect he'll win a few states on the SEC primary day. Certainly Texas, I am thinking probably Arkansas and Alabama, maybe Tennessee.

Rubio will win everywhere else.
