amazon's gonna be the death of me. Got 15 things due tomorrow. Had 15 things in my cart last night, they all said "order by <noon wednesday> and get your items by 9PM Wednesday, 12/23". I figure cool, I'll order in the AM in case I need to add anything. Go to order this morning and every item says "order by <noon> and get your items by 8PM on Thursday, 12/24". So now I have not wiggle room. I figure if something got screwed up and I didn't get it tonight, I'd still have tomorrow to go out and backfill it. Now depending on what carrier they use, all brick & mortar could be closed by the drop-dead time when it becomes clear that something is not arriving. They need a "super prime" option that only uses UPS & Fedex.

They're simply not dependable anymore. Went to B&N for a book for my father-in-law on Monday, and found out it was sold out. My wife went on Amazon, it was in stock and under Prime, so she ordered it. That night she saw an order confirmation in her email that said it would be delivered 12/29.

Yes I am having similar experiences and will probably be without gifts for some of my nieces and nephews on Xmas day. It's not that big of a deal because I'm sure they're all getting tons of shit but it feels bad giving them stuff a couple days late. I bought most of my gifts for adults from various shops along Passyunk Ave and that worked out really well. Cool and unique stuff from local shops and no crowds/lines.

Hobby Lobby has such a crappy layout. And really, two cashiers on 12/23? Even better when the person ahead of you has like 25 glass thingies that have to get individually wrapped with paper. BUT, found that BIG LEAGUE CHEW! Got a chaw in right now!

Turns out his mother is a desperate drug addict, to the point that she frequently either took herself or sold his medications to get money for her own fix. Also maybe some Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

I was shaking with rage when I first heard this. It's great that the boy is doing better, but what kind of permanent brain damage did his mother do to him?
