It was an act of war.
Oh well, we will have to aid again. I love your weather reports but not whatever in the hell it is you are defending.

A coordinated attack by a not so small group isn't a random movie theatre shooting by some kid that probably would have fit well in with ISIS.

They take these peoples lives who are probably mostly good, it is war. They waged their bet.

when you're fighting a war, your attacks have strategic goals. this is something else.

The strategy is kill as many as you can then die.

Great, explaining motives is now defending terrorism. Fuck you, you have the mentality of a 10 year old on political topics. Let the grown ups discuss this.

All band members are alive. One guy working with the band was killed though.

broad, sweeping changes are coming to europe.

this is the most horrifying type of attack because it takes a large amount of luck from an intelligence perspective to thwart. i'm slightly surprised no foreign intelligence agency picked up anything on this given the # of people involved. the level of coordination, patience, and commitment of 8 people is not something to overlook and has to be the largest group to attack the west in such a fashion since 9/11.

horrible couple weeks between the bombings in iraq and lebanon, the russian plane bombing, and now this. really sad stuff. perhaps it will bring world leaders together in a truly unified way to ameliorate things in syria.

BTW, ISIS has claimed responsibility.

According to investigators, the suicide bombers were planning to make it into the soccer stadium and detonate live on TV. Unsure how or why they detonated at the entrance. Apparently, security isn't anything near what it is like in the US, even with the French President being present.

According to witnesses, terrorists were speaking in French screaming "this is for Syria" in addition to "we're strong than France."

All of this according to MSNBC.

The casual racism in this thread is gross. Meanwhile still no news.

I only lived there for four years but France is the dividing line between my life being really shitty and having a path toward normalcy.

Paris is a beautiful city and French culture means a lot to me.

I'm just really sad and I don't know why I read this thread.

Paris gunmen

Police say there were eight attackers and all of them died:

Three blew themselves up and a fourth was shot by police at the Bataclan venue at the end of the concert siege
Another blew himself up a short distance away from the concert hall on the Boulevard Voltaire
Three more blew themselves up at eating places near the Stade de France

But the search for potential accomplices continues. The string of gun and bomb attacks was clearly co-ordinated and involved more men than the three who took part in the January attacks, which claimed the lives of 18 people in Paris.

The city has issued an emergency hotline for information: 0800 40 60 05.
