Are you allowed to retroactively oppose a war?

how about when you learn it's not being waged for the reason you were told??

Europe is much less strict with emissions so they most likely wouldn't have needed to.

Just read an article where they said this very thing, and also that these cars didn't sell as well over there because they didn't have to be offered as an alternative.

that's fine I guess, but Matthews was literally acting like he was against the war the entire time.

Looks like they put it in 11 million cars worldwide. Yeesh. Not surprisingly the CEO just got canned.

Yikes. I'll be glued to the NYSE today to see how those fellas up in NY react.

A further fall in shares of German carmaker Volkswagen (Xetra: 766400 - news) , which has admitted cheating on vehicle emission tests, also took a toll on the FTSEurofirst, as an investigation of the cheating spread to Asia. VW shares were last down 19 percent. Porsche, part of the VW group, lost 17 percent.

I didn't realize how poorly VW has been doing, perhaps they are in some serious trouble.

Yeah I love my 2011 Jetta TDI. I've always got more than the 40mpg highway too. With my wife pregnant was going to get the new Golf SportWagen TDI but never mind.

Loved my 2005 TDI Passat. After 140k, I sold it and got a 2011 VW CC (non diesel). The CC, from 2009-2013, has a design defect that the caster/camber of the wheels is never right and results in cupping on the tires, which then make loud sounds. A VW tech confessed the problem, but VW would not offer any long-term remedy.

I dumped it and now I have some serious hate for VW.

I hope this ruins them.

well when you get lied to about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction and direct ties to Al Qaida then yes, you are allowed to retroactively be opposed to it

TBF its still way cleaner than cars were in the 90's and 80's. This issue only affects areas like LA where its blocked by mountains and hot as fuck. the carbon emissions in areas like Philadelphia and most parts of the country aren't that big of a deal.

still an incredibly shitty thing to do and i can't believe they had the balls to do it.

It wasn't clear the Iraq War was aged to to remove the current government and install one sympathetic to American needs?

I always figured everything else (Terrorists! WMD! Democracy!) was just window dressing, and thought everyone else did too. Certainly anyone in power.

I have a bigger problem with people like Toby Keith and Reba McIntyre who called for the hanging of the Dixie Chicks because they were against the war.

Gov. Chris Christie wants the leader of New Jersey's National Guard to shape up.

The governor has given Air Force Brig. Gen. Michael Cunniff 90 days to slim down and meet his obligations.

The action comes after Christie's staff told The Washington Post that the governor was unaware the general had been reprimanded by the Pentagon about his weight and for repeatedly dodging physical-fitness tests.

The newspaper obtained the records under the Freedom of Information Act.

A bunch of my leftie pals IRL are praising Russia for banning GMOs, but conveniently ignore the time when they burned 500+ tons of "banned" food. #bothsidesdoit

most mad at my one friend who texted me a link to infowars. might have to get a new phone now.
