Carson was asked about trumps opinion on vaccines. He said something. Trump then talked about nah vaccines are cool but if you've seen how much they pump into little babies, I'll tell ya. Let's pump less maybe and I bet autism will decrease maybe or something.

Why can't Carson just say "No, vaccines are great and the people that arguing against them are hurting the world"? It would seriously do more good than anything he could possible do during this campaign.

It was a nightmare. the moderator didn't moderate, trump s foreign policy is to "get along" with other nations, Ted Cruz is disgusting and hateful, and It was just random answers when everything got out of control. They should add 5 more candidates

@mtaibbi: All I can remember right now is that Carly Fiorina talked about eating brains and Ted Cruz said America isn't a planet.

Well if there were less than 57 candidates they would have asked him more questions and eventually the crazy would have come out.

His answers on marijuana decriminalization were the only sensible statements made all night.

Loved Rand's answer about following the 10th amendment only when it's convenient. Also loved that he was the only one willing to say that intervention and military action isn't always advisable.

Christie was the most insufferable for me: I'm tired of his appeals based on the emotion of 9/11.

Hot takes:

1. For a guy who supposedly "tells it like it is," Chris Christie did what is to my mind an embarrassing amount of artless, naked pandering. We'll see if it works for him, or if people see right through it. I suspect the latter.

2. Trump has crested. It should be obvious to even the lowest information voter (who wouldn't have been watching tonight anyway) that he is blowing smoke, and once he settled in and tried to fit in with the other candidates, he just came across as uninformed and, surprisingly, rather dull.

3. Jeb was much better.

4. Walker got kind of ignored, but he'll bide his time. He's a serious player.

5. Paul tried to position himself as the adult in the room... interesting, but

wrong party.

6. Rubio was strong on foreign policy; distinguished himself.

7. Fiorina did great.

8. Kasich's "above the fray" act isn’t working.

6.
