This article does nothing to contradict the AP's reporting from yesterday other than to say the AP retracted their story when they didn't.

If he said I thought Romney was going to win so he hopes I'm wrong again, that'd be fair enough. He said I was sure Romney would win, which was annoying and a lie, if people other than Republicans can lie.

Nate's still smarter than me, and on the Bernie point we agree that he has almost zero chance of being the nominee.

Good, stick to the strategy. You're not wrong and you never are. You'll be a fine cog in the GOP machine one day. If anything, docsmooth is too kind to you.

Of course I was wrong in saying Romney would win, and in retrospect was also wrong to suggest he was the favorite at any point in October. As has been discussed multiple times on this fair message board, GOP internal polling was far too rosy because it was modeling a universe of likely voters that included too few young people and nonwhite people on the basis of their stated lack of enthusiasm compared to 2008. The public polls and Dem internal polls did a much better job at predicting the outcome. The opposite was true this past November, as the GOP internal polls did a nice job, and the Dems were blindsided. You win some, you lose some.

While I was wrong about Romney winning, I was certainly never sure he would win, so I don't think that's a very good word for you to use in describing my past beliefs or a good comparison with how I feel about Sanders, to whom I give very, very little chance.

I don't really understand why people ought to treat me poorly because I disagree with most people here politically, but then I'm not a member of the tolerant left.

If Trump is really a Clinton plant it's the most diabolical scheme in history. FFS he has Jeb talking about anchor babies.

I think he's already a cog in their machine. But I'm sure he'd be ok to grab a beer with and that's all that matters.

The IAEA is already monitoring Parchin via satellite and has seen no activity for ten years.

Wait to the base finds out Jeb has "little brown ones" running around. Or maybe they already found out and that explains his poll numbers.

Oops, should have posted this in this thread:

SK790 wrote:Say what you will about Bernie, but his campaign has been by far the most successful so far. People are talking about him and not just far lefties, either. He's got a lot of "libertarians" on his side as well. The fact that he's the only candidate out there that is fighting for 2 of the things people most want(income equality and campaign finance reform) shouldn't be overlooked.

I still think he'll lose to HRC, but his ceiling has gone from "maybe making a few states interesting and make HRC campaign on far left issues" to "maybe challenging for the nomination". Gotta keep the momentum going.

I would like to know about actual libertarians who support Sanders.

Indeed, kudos to jersey. I think his politics are awful, but then he thinks mine are awful: c'est la vie. People consistently abuse him, whilst arguing in irrationally reactionary ways. I am guilty of this myself at times, which is why I am not nor ever will be a politician. But let's recognize that some of the irrational lefty overreaction here does not help our cause, and that we'd all benefit from honing our abilities to look at things through "dispassionate observer" lenses and not partisan ones. Civility is its own reward, people.

Whatever Politico intern wrote the title "Trump to O'Reilly: 14th Amendment is unconstitutional" should probably be fired

A legal affairs writer at HuffPo brought us one of the hottest of taeks today arguing that a constitutional amendment outlawing birthright citizenship might be unconstitutional.

I think that's a fair perspective but he's a dishonest dude who thinks he is/is part of some larger Republican team and would rather represent a pro-team viewpoint than be honest with people he considers friends. that's my main gripe.
