Non-fiction is writing based on facts. Can't (shouldn't?) be assumed to be wholly factual; "true stories" are still stories

We decided to make up a word for untrue stories and then put a "non" in front of to denote true(r) stories. It would make more sense to me if we made the word up for true stories and then use the "non" in front to denote false stories.

I explained this like #$!&@, but I'm tired.

i agree pratty. in fact, i was well into my 20s or 30s before I got this right consistently. always was a sore spot for me

Doctor told me I was overweight for someone 5'9. I asked him why he thought I was 5'9, and he told me because the chart said I was. I also corrected him when he said Savannah, South Carolina. (Apparently, there is a Savannah Town, South Carolina but its population is under 1500 and in no way what he was talking about.) If this guy wasn't so close to my house, I'd think about a new doc.

In and Out gets boring when you eat it once a week.

Opted for pizza, TP would be proud.

so if someone is in chestnut hill hospital and their condition needs more specialized care, they sometimes transfer them to Temple Hospital. (I have no idea what condition(s) dictate this). If the condition is considered grave enough, they transport via helicopter. the thing his, CHH has no heliport. so they dispatch whitemarsh ambulance to drive to chestnut hill hospital, load up the patient, transport the patient via ambulance to miles park in lafayette hill, where the helicopter has been dispatched to to be on the ground waiting the arrival of the ambulance. they then load the patient from the ambulance to the helicopter for the flight to temple hospital.

from CHH to TUH is 7.2 miles by road. it's 3.2 miles from CHH to miles park. it usually takes about 5-10 minutes for the handoff from the amberlamps to the heliochopper. Now if it's rush hour, i think maybe some time may be save (even lights & siren gets you stuck in traffic at rush hour). but over the last couple weeks we've landed helicopters at miles park IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREAKIN' NIGHT! Google says by car it will take 22 minutes to get from CHH to TUH at 1AM, whileit take 7 minutes to get from CHH to miles. So, considering the time it takes for transfer, and likely the longer time it takes to get the patient from the roof of TUH to wherever they need to go, I'm pretty convinced it takes LONGER to use the helicopter route. OK, even if there is some time savings, it has to be very minimal.

bottom line, i think there's big bucks in medevac transports, and they will be milked for all they're worth.

buck is there any chance that some are so urgent that they can't risk any road work or accidents or traffic to slow them down, or are you talking large volumes of this

yea, those middle-of-the-night trips are completely fraudulent.

I'm thinking insurance scams, forged documents, bags full of cash, meetings in alleyways - we're gonna need some investigative reporting on this thing

I think your reasoning is airtight, so I'm gonna go with when the terms were being handed out you basically had the Bible, and then everything else was deemed fiction, so it was more just 1 different book rather than a whole category. Non-state-sanctioned accounts of science, or history, etc were just heresy, or worse

That's all I've got

no but really. It had been bugging me, I went to sleep and woke up feeling like someone had sown a barbed rod to my spine last night. Constant dull pain, sharp pain when I try to bend or turn my body.
