What kind of person finds those two women who stopped that Sanders rally likeable? Judging by facebook it seems like the most contrarian/trollish liberal sided folks I know exclusively.

i will say that it's working; the Sanders campaign has completely re-oriented itself to include much more discussion about policing, inequality as far as race goes, etc.

but there's yet to be a a #BLM jump in on Hillary's campaign. I wonder if she's literally just better at security and staying 'on message' with her events and Bernie is sort of allowing it due to being more egalitarian in general plus having less money to ensure solidarity.

whether or not it worked is besides the point. Those two women were giant fucking assholes and the Seattle BLM chapter was horrified that they (the demonstrators) used their name as justification for the bush league publicity stunt.

i dont find it 'appalling'. it's silly but there is definitely an issue within the liberal circles of having to play respectability politics. i think there's a point where shouting obfuscates your point. the people at Netroots I thought were pretty decent; here not as much. I'm not going to malign a movement over it or make their conduct the heart of the discussion, though.

different people find different things appalling, and that changes depending on what one is trying to achieve or not achieve. you may find this appalling; others may find the idea of #blacklivesmatter appalling.

point is, black lives matter is working, bit by bit. I do hope they go after Clinton, and then the Republicans, then. Start within then reach out.

I don't think those two individuals are at the heart of blm though. This whole thing has nothing but losers; no one looks good in the aftermath. FWIW, the cringiest aspect to me was the response from some of Bernie's supporters.

i follow people on twitter on 'both sides' of this debate and plenty are making good and bad points and good and bad tweets.

in the end, i think 'we' win from this, though. too little of bernie's message was not hitting parts of the democratic base when it really would be great for them to listen to and interact with him and his platform moreso than HC's. She's had years on the national stage and is a much better political animal, though.

fwiw, he had a rally in Portland the next day where 28,000 people showed up, he had a #BLM activist who he hired to be on his staff speak and it went off scot-free.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't hire security as part of his gimmick. The best thing about the interrupters was that the Sanders people were like "alright, we'll let you talk" and it was quickly apparent that they had nothing to say and it was just a stunt so they could be shown getting silenced by the man.
