Which probably means Huckabee and Cruz were the clear winners.

"Left leaning" unless I'm confusing your posts with smitty again, there is no lean. You are on the left.

your teevee was on the fritz, there were 5 other participants

There were 5 people in the late show whom I might vote for in the primary. The people I did not mention won't be receiving my vote in the primary unless the aforementioned 5 (and Perry and maybe Jindal and Fiorina) drop out and/or die. So how they performed did not affect my personal decision making process. So I did not mention them.

Kind of surprised at that, Jindal is a bad politician who probably wouldn't spend political capital wisely.

Like, Lindsey Graham has all the same terrible characteristics Jindal has as a presidential candidate but infinitely more evidence he is a competent human being

I thought you were putting him in your top 8, and I'm kind of shocked you consider him more viable than Paul.

i thought Rubio did well among those who were listening to what he said, but I think the twitter remark that "Marco Rubio looks like he still gets a lollipop every time he gets a haircut" may have struck something regarding him coming across as less than presidential. His immigration remarks that America was somehow both the "most generous nation in the world regarding immigration" and yet" millions of people who had paid their fees and done their paperwork were unable to immigrate" came out as disjointed on what should have been a bread and butter issue. And I'm not sure his appeal to sympathy will play very well with the base.

Jindal is a former Rhodes scholar who has served as secretary of Louisiana's Health and Hospitals and the president of the University of Louisiana system, was a two term congressman, and has been a two term governor of Louisiana. He's 44 years old. He really seems to struggle on some things and is not in the top tier for many good reasons, but he's done OK for himself through the years. If he's in position to win the nomination, it means he's figured out a way to play on his strengths and not be too terrible. His ceiling and potential appeal to me as a voter is miles ahead of any of the other five I mentioned. He's got serious liabilities, and I imagine he'll run a campaign where he has a few red meat lines and fizzles out after Iowa, but with the field this unwieldy, who knows.

he's counted votes & knows the veto is override-proof. So he can oppose it without real consequence. Good.

the crushing blow of having your decision leaked 8 hours before it would have any way must be a real cross to bear.

Schumer gave them the courtesy of a day's advance notice before he came out against the deal, and they leaked it during the debate to bury it. We'll see what Schumer says about it tomorrow. Maybe this was all coordinated between them, but I'm not sure if it was why Schumer's people would make it clear the White House leaked it early making them look like dicks.

Trump, clown, is going to badger Mexico, Russia, China, etc. into better 'deals' for the US through force of personality, but cannot handle the tough questions from Megyn Kelly, so he whines about her. That's what real leaders do.
