Did you catch it on NBC Saturday or a video? Christie was at Monmouth Park in the winner's circle for the big horse race with American Pharoah, and he was booed unmercifully by the crowd..too funny...Jersey residents aren't too happy with him right now..

Not worth giving any in depth thoughts on Trump until after Thursday which will likely either be a complete ruinous debacle (at least as far as his campaign) or a perception altering sea change (again, at least as far as his campaign), but I think he is a savvy, intelligent man, far more so than his detractors will even entertain at the moment. And for the record Nickelback is still a money printing monster of a band that has weathered 10 years of scathing treatment from the critical establishment. It was a shit article by Silver but an apt comparison to highlight the cavernous gap in establishment hivemind punditry and actual real world appeal/success

Bobby Jindal has cut off all Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood in Louisiana, for everything they do.

No LA Planned Parenthood does abortions, so he only cut off funding to all the other services they provide, such as cancer screening, birth control, HIV/STD testing, family planning advice, women's healthcare in general, etc.

WE DID IT!!!! WE DENIED ACCESS TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD TO POOR WOMEN!!!! VICTORY!

let's run up those stats:

ouisiana is already one of the worst states in the country for STI transmissions, ranking second for gonorrhea and fourth for chlamydia infections. The state has the eighth-highest teen birth rate in the nation. The HIV problem in Louisiana is particularly bad, with New Orleans routinely ranking in the top five highest-transmission cities in the country. In 2012, the state went to No. 1 in the country for HIV cases in people ages 13 to 24.

You can announce a running mate before the convention - see reagan from earlier in the thread.

I think there are a lot of people who will support clinton in large part because she's a woman and they feel that it's time for a woman to be prez (it is, imho). Maybe those people would be satisfied with warren as the VP pick, especially since warren excites the base more than clinton does. Biden would be a decent pick for the establishment. So both parts of the dem electorate would be satisfied. I think clinton needs to be pushed aside. Her legal problems, real or not, have the sound of truth to them, and that's all that will matter in a close contest.

He also has never seemed like he was running. I'd be interested to see what would happen if he announced, and at the same time announced warren as his running mate.

Listening to Obama trace how we got to Iran nuke negotiations.

Regardless the deal's merits, it's pretty cool having a President who doesn't need cue cards to talk about the issues involved

bsed on Fox News' criteria, Rick Perry will not be in the main debate but will be at the kids' table. Bad news for media heads since he would've thrown him some zingers

I thought Fox refused to announce which polls they will use

Trump
Bush
Walker
Huckabee
Carson
Cruz
Rubio
Paul
Christie
Kasich

Perry the man on the outside looking in

they used: Bloomberg, CBS News, Fox News, Monmouth University and Quinnipiac University.

"From what I've heard, every one of them is going to come at me," Trump told reporters in Iowa recently. "For two hours, I'm going to be, like, in the lion's den, right? ... I'm hearing everyone say I'm going to be good at the debates. I don't know if I'm going to be good. I've never done it before. Politicians do it every night."

downplaying himself

The remaining seven candidates – Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Carly Fiorina, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Lindsey Graham, George Pataki and Jim Gilmore – are invited to participate in an earlier debate, scheduled for 5 p.m. ET, also airing on Fox News.

FWIW, there was a debate outside the official GOP circuit in New Hampshire that had little to no problem hosting all who managed to come (14 of them).
what a joke this entire thing is

it would appear the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll was the 5th most recent...they DIDN'T go by their own rules. They used a Quinnipiac, which was 6. This means Rick Perry was out and Kasich was in; Perry and Kasich would've statistically tied if they actually went by their own rules. FWIW, the debate is held in Ohio, where Kasich is governor. He also was formerly employed by them.

They've ended Perry's political career. Sure, he would've probably done it on his own in the debates, but now he doesn't have a chance.
LOL. Why have the criteria if you don't follow it? They retroactively disqualified the NBC/WSJ poll due to the order/title in which the poll asked respondents the options.

why not? a voter will not take seriously people who are not even in the main debate. this is pretty basic stuff.

also, do you dispute the idea that they discounted their own criteria?
